Arrived at Gamescom @11PM. The aparthotel of booking.com was a PizzaHut. The rest is a tired blur of AI-support. We ended crashing in a hotel 3 times more expensive at 3AM the day after. I'm chasing for refund. The phone-support is AI. THEY HAVE KEYBOARD CLICKS IN THE BACKGROUND IT MAKES ME CRAZY.

Also : I can't shake the feeling that a generation of gamedevs is absent from those events. Out of the smashing indie hits on steam in previous years (repo, lethal company, far far west etc.), but also Roblox & Fortnite hitmakers : how many of those were at such B2B events ? It feels grindy.

Gamescom was meh. Still the best place to meet international devs without taking the plane and catch-up with friends, but publishers are swamped, no one has time, risk-aversion is all-time high, heatwave took a toll too. On M2M there where 2500 companies, how does one even processes that ?

Wow O-O and the game seems to have been slightly rushed too. It's crazy. The game is good (day-one purchase for me), critical reception is excellent, it will be a million seller within the first month of sales, what are the expectations nowadays ? Silly.
