I’m 2x #breastcancer and had cancer-induced #menopause in my 30s. October arrives and most years I find myself cringing at the lack of empathy of many ‘awareness’ campaigns. substack.com/@stellduffy/...

This evening, 8pm (UK), another brilliant conversation with the #NoMoCrones, held by Jody Day, hosted by #worldchildlessweek - ageing & worth in a pronatal, misogynist, ageist society. Come join us as we offer some hope. Yes being childless not by choice can be hard. AND there is life beyond loss.

Went to our lovely neighbour's funeral today. Big old church, standing room only, all the prayers and hymns and beautiful stories told. Maybe those folks worried about the lessening "Christian nature" of the UK just need to be better friends with their Jamaican neighbours?

He's now resorting to trying to buy the election. Federal law makes it unlawful to knowingly and willfully pay, offer to pay, or accept payment for registering to vote or for voting. (52 U.S.C. §10307(c).) Any type of incentive is considered “payment.”

Yes, Gloria Steinem was complicated and not perfect. And maybe we'll never get the truly intersectional inclusive feminism so many of us struggle towards. And/but abortion mattered then and matters now. And for her advocacy on that alone, we can be grateful.

Estimated 30.000 people at the vigil for Professor Jason Arday tonight. Couldn’t hear all of the speeches, but what I could hear was very moving and very powerful. Grateful I could be there. Infuriating and so awful that this anti-Black racism has been allowed to thrive in our media.

RIP Jason Arday. The unchecked racism of our media, our academic institutions, and yes, our (and my) whiteness, pushed and taunted and bullied. This is the result.

30 days of #Pride. Day 30. My wife and I rarely kiss in public. After 36 years together, our early unsafety remains AND those before us made change that helped us anyway. I am excited for the hope the new lot of LGBTQIA+ folk will create. And I remember our forebears. Without them, we are not.

30 things about #Pride. Day 29 As we approach the end of June, grab an atlas & a search engine. Check where: * it’s illegal to be gay & trans. * our lives are getting harder. * conversion ‘therapy’ is allowed * the impact of colonialism/‘missionaries’ on these places. That’s why we need #Pride.

30 days of #Pride. Day 27 Being in any or every way gay or queer or gender-expansive is not a choice. It’s embodied, emplaced and temporal. It’s an honesty to life. For some of us it’s everything, for others of us it’s some of everything. All good. The rainbow has many more colours than 7.
