Anyway I don't mind REs at all but I think the best ones are the ones where they're less frequent but more threatening. Bonus points if you have some kind of indicator of how close you are to the next one, and especially some way of turning off or reducing low-level encounters. In other words, SMT3

Random encounters CAN be annoying if balanced badly but I think the only time they're universally annoying is when you've outlevelled/returned to an area and all the enemies die in one turn but you keep getting yanked into encounters anyway.

TOP is definitely the body-checkiest of the ults since UCoB, UWU and even TEA and FRU aren't that bad with 'em and it's pretty specific to a couple of mechanics in most non-TOP ults.... TOP also gives you very little time to recover between mechs, not even phase changes give you a break

I don't mind the job system thaaat much but there's definitely some massive balance issues. In combat, Scholar is so ridiculously good that I can't imagine not taking it. A bunch of the damage types also just......aren't equal in effectiveness, ie, how awful the polearm skills are

playing Octopath and like. this game is good but it REALLY feels like it's doing nothing but fighting it's own 8-character gimmick. most of the stories feel like they're written for only each individual character to be there even though that's the opposite of the point of the game.....
