There’s a good argument that the baby is already a vampire vie the placenta, so it’s probably gonna be turned. Which a bit of a shit way to spend eternity, really.

They succeeded in achieving “cruel and unusual”. She’s not likely to return to any kind of meaningful brain function…hopefully it’s another step towards abolition. Not confident, though.

That’s not how you cook meat…that’s not even properly cooked blue… (And just quietly, the whole visual colour thing is appalling…yuck). It looks like microbiology as art under and electron microscope…

I did a thing this afternoon. Honestly, have no idea how I went. Felt good about it, but I’ve learned never to get my hopes up.

No, she’ll likely be brain dead or close to it, and anything after that will depend on medical care, another death warrant, or both. Either way, she won’t be competent for another death penalty. This is barbaric.

Holy crap. *This is the definition of cruel and unusual* Is is too early to discuss repealing the death penalty? It’s never too early to discuss repealing the death penalty… And she’ll never be competent for the next death warrant to matter.

This is truly worrying! It is time the Future Fund served Australians to build a thriving future here on earth for our children.

To the people complaining these sex abuse cases have created a world where men now have to think 10 times before they touch a woman. Yes, that's the point. It's called consent. Welcome to human decency.

So long as it is recorded as an Epic Homeric Poem with occasional “There once was a girl from Ohio” limericks (for accuracy).

ffs. I’d reckon it’s time to re-evaluate travel advisories. I can think of one country that recently “reviewed” their vaccine schedule that should get a few more recommendations…

For various personal reasons I’m all kinds of intersectional even one step back from the more obvious fact I’m a 50 year old white guy. The kind of confidence based on absolutely nothing these men possess is utterly baffling. (fwiw, rapists belong in prison, which should be a fundamental fact)

Please tell me no one tried to make you take oral calcium as part of your MTP attempt…it’s tough to explain that one *during* the MTP (and obviously pre-trauma laparotomy)…

Jay spent the entire weekend sorting out the coding to stop the “Hellthread” where everyone posted on main; but the system only recognised it all as one thread. So chaos notifications as everything after was considered a reply. Then posts were named “skeets” just because Jay hated it…

Once we did, then markets opened up for *everything* (gains and losses, not just the apples you grew or were going to grow). They call it “diversified” but all that really is gambling.

I’d be happy for an economist to check me, but it’s all psychology so you’re already better at it that you thought. Also, we can change the agreed value *as a people* and we don’t, which is frustrating. We have the power.✊🏼

Discretionary spending then leads to demand for goods + services -> manufacturing + warehousing -> employment or unemployment etc etc. …again, I think.

Stefan @stefan.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
The primary bias the Reserve seems to fall to is inherent in the system: control of the economy via the sole mechanism of interest rates. That’s it. It’s the one lever they have. It means we’re forever dependant on home ownership, rental, and consequently discretionary spending.

Stefan @stefan.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
With my other reply, and yes. (Although I’m not an economist in any shape or form)

Stefan @stefan.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
No, because that’s chance. Economics has enough educated background and research to guide the beliefs and perception. But elements of it are basically chance; and are hidden behind the agreed perception that a + b = c but c really depends on too many other variables outside anyone’s control.

Stefan @stefan.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
My understanding is that it’s all about interpretation of events; shared beliefs of meaning; assigning value to perception; communicating and controlling that perception and that value; and finally attempting to foretell the future (with added financial consequences)… …I think.

Big fan of Dr Glaucomflecken’a but haven’t seen anything here since his site went outrageously paywalled. Was curious how that was going… And it might just be timing, but that same site is down. Did anyone subscribe?

She was 15 ½ when we lost her, and she was an English Staffordshire Terrier (so not really a pitbull but depends on where you are as to how that works). 15kg of cannonball gentle love.
