I’ve done a couple of artistic nude photo sessions lately and I’m learning a couple of things. Colour or black & white both look great when shot properly. I’m leaning towards a Mapplethorpe artistic style towards the male nude (if not content). And I don’t see *me* represented. 1/

Quietly impressed that I did 4 sessions over 3 days in the entire year of modelling…with three years of students. (And this happened…) I *can* do it. #naturism #lifedrawing #artmodel #nudeart #malemodel

Worked my first modelling job back in Melbourne yesterday. Many thanks to the first year students (no work shown). Was surprised to find myself on the wall of the drawing room, though…

There’s an artist in the community where I started. His contribution was outsized to being just one person. He was known to some as “Mr Lifedrawing” though that should have been “Dr Lifedrawing”. He died this morning. He will be missed greatly. Vale.

Ian Calcutt, 20 minutes.

Stefan, nude, standing on left leg next to a chair with right leg kneeling on the chair. Right hand touching the chair back, left on hip.

This is the last pose I did with Ian.

Ian Calcutt 20 min.

Stefan, nude, laying reclined, left knee raised and slightly bent outward.

He is holding a violin on his chest, supported with the left hand.

This was my first 20 minute pose and one of only a handful of reclines I pose for.

Ian Calcutt, 10 minute pose

Stefan sitting nude in a chair, playing a violin, pose held while playing. Viewed from from left.

Ian Calcutt, 3x 5 minutes

Stefan standing, right hand on hip; sitting, legs curled under and right hand on calf muscle;
and standing, from behind left hand on head.

All poses nude.

Most pictures posted on this account contain artistic nudity and are not explicit. Except those that are neither. BlueSky moderation does its own thing, and won’t allow appeals (please try again).

Some more poses from that first session. In a nutshell, I’m ok with needing to lose weight (for health). But I needed to see what others saw, because I saw something else in the mirror, which wasn’t at all healthy. Sometimes art is healing. #fineart #malemodel #lifedrawing

This is from the first session I posed for, again at ConFest. I was supported by Tara Sandie and it was a very personal session (that literally changed my life). 10 minute pose, which held the first chord from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. It turns out this is a *really* hard pose to hold. 1/2

Sketch of Stefan posing with violin. Unknown artist, 10 minute pose.

I’m going to gradually add work as I pose for it. Until then, this is some of my portfolio, probably in no particular order, but starting with the very first sessions I posed for. This is the first session ever - two five minute poses drawn by Ian Calcutt at Easter ConFest 2024.

Stefan seated (left) and standing kneel (right) two five minute poses drawn by Ian Calcutt.

After an odd year doing mostly academic modelling work I’ve found an art group in Darwin! Art examples posted shortly…

Human Artists! Use one piece to convince people to follow you!

Painting of a spatuletail hummingbird (centred) connecting its beak to the index finger of a hand that’s coming into frame (top right). The hand represents the hand of God, and the bird is replacing Adam, the painting is a reimagining of the fresco ‘the Creation of Adam’ from Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling.
The background of the canvas is a simple wash of beige/tan with a slight gradient getting lighter to the top, and small spots of white (flecks of light). The left side of the canvas has a few out of focus cherry blossom branches coming into frame. There’s a small description in Japanese with a red marker’s seal in the bottom right corner.
