Had a nice bedhead fauxhawk and decided to just spritz it with some salt spray for a bit of hold and it was just enough moisture to go full Streets of Fire

I've met so many cool people working in a convenience store and my only real regret is that our meetings are so brief and many are just passing through. I never thought I'd actually like a public-facing retail job but I guess it depends on the public.

A girl came in to work yesterday with a banjo and we both had a "Hell yeah!" moment when I noticed it and told her I played too and she asked what kind and I said Tenor and Five String and it's moments like that that make me like this job and this town

Also I'm not sure if that's saying more about my performance or the desperation of the company for management positions lol

Got an (unofficial) offer from my manager for an assistant manager position at another store and there's a LOT of upsides. Better pay, better hours, closer to the city, But I'll admit the fact I'd no longer see some of my regulars gives me a little pause

I literally don't have time to grocery shop during the week because the fucking night bus schedule is so dogshit awful and safeway only has self checkout open when I get off work so I literally can't buy even a single thing because waiting in line will mean I don't get home until midnight

000

Hyenamaxxing @steampossum.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

was literally in the process of ordering groceries so I could have something other than the garbage from work to eat tomorrow and had coupons bringing the order down from like $98 to $63 and then midnight rolled over, the coupons all expired, & the delivery window changed to 5 pm so fuck me I guess

I would simply not continue to heckle the person who is actively going out of their way to work toward a solution because your stupid ass decided to try breaking a $100 bill on an $11 purchase at a store with less than $50 in the till at any given time

I realized, shortly after we met, how I knew you - it was when the news broke. She was one of the very first people I ever spoke to with regularity in the fandom and while my acquaintance with her was fairly brief in those fast paced early years, she was always so very kind and encouraging.

Advertisers telling FA that plus sized characters are too sexual, then telling CSP to remove kissing references because it's too sexual, is a great example as to why advertisers are bad, and trying to sanitize the fandom is a waste of time. Advertisers, paypros and puritans belong in the bin.

You can bet your ass after twenty years on this site, I'm happy to throw $25 at a six month premium and encourage others to do the same. I might not use it as much as I used to, but FA has been always been there when the furry community needed a place to exist. Also: Fuck third party advertisers.

TLDR: Fur Affinity's advertising partners are demanding that they ban adult content. Sciggles and FA want to firmly tell them to go fuck themselves. If they're going to be able to afford to do that, they need the community's help. Pitch in. Keep furry weird. www.furaffinity.net/journal/1143...

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:

Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

Giving back to the community is important to me. I'm fortunate enough to have a small amount of disposable income and I would rather see it go to FA than go to another media conglomerate so a billionaire can get his next billion. I wanna encourage my friends to subscribe if they're able to 🩵
