Trait duplications (serial homologies) happen all the time in evolution. The 4 horned antelope is the only bovid species with 4 horns. It's not clear if they evolved from a single mutation (as in 4 horned sheep) or evolved gradually from a pronged horn.

I keep seeing biologists claim they've falsified the (poorly named) "central dogma" by finding proteins that cause mutations. No. To actually defy the "central dogma" you need a natural system that reads protein sequences & converts them to DNA sequences. Search on, my friends!

This art is from the first paper modeling the structure of double stranded DNA. It was Drawn by Odile Crick (married to Francis Crick) & based on the X-ray diffraction data of Rosalind Franklin. I love it! It shows the major & minor grooves, correct chirality & approximate number of bases per turn.
