Disastrous decisions right off the bat. Fuck Skydance. Warner Bros. is cooking these days under these two, who genuinely like movies and love making them. This is a great indicator that this merger is going to ruin EVERYTHING.

To share my professional insight a little bit. Jon Watts passed on an MCU return, a Jim Henson biopic, an original horror film, and "other Disney projects" in favor of Star Wars. I respect the dedication. Also a step up from James Mangold and Taika Waititi who are doing everything BUT Star Wars.

Skeleton Crew (a show Jon Watts showran, created, and directed 2 episodes of) has everything people claim they want in Star Wars. A simple story almost completely separated from the wider Saga that focuses entirely on new characters. But y'all didn't watch it so you think Watts can't do a SW movie.

Oh I fucking love this. Adored Skeleton Crew & the heart & character Watts brings to his films. And I refuse to listen to any attempts at revisionist history film twitter/tiktok try to pull, his Spidey films are all top notch. Great choice to direct.

Skeleton Crew was an absolute blast and I think did a great job at doing what the core Star Wars films should do: Balance emotional storytelling with humour & with a family audience in mind.

Forever furious we didn’t get this in theaters. I took my time getting to this. Avatar means very much to me.Thankfully I really enjoyed it. The story doesn’t reach the heights of the OG series, but the animation is breathtaking & it was so good seeing these characters again

Happy to report it’s so good. I hate that we almost never got to see this. It’s so clever, such a great Looney Tunes movie, and just genuinely very good all-around. Corporations fucking suck.

BLACK-A visual spectacle, no dialogue, nonstop Jazz score, this is the closest Star Wars has come to auteur filmmaking. What I love about Visions is it can give us something this entirely unique & creative. Not sure if or when I’ll watch it again, but glad I went on this wild ride

THE SMUGGLER-Loved it, my fave of the new stories so far. Was blown away by the animation, characters & voice acting, and a story that could easily fit right into established timelines while also having that Visions flare. If any of the new stories from Vol 3 get sequels, I hope this is one of them

THE LOST ONES-The sequel to a top 5 Star Wars story for me, it more than lived up to my lofty expectations. 1st short in Vol 3 I’ve truly loved. Mark Strong is terrifying. F is an all-time SW protagonist. Only thing missing was The Village Bride’s incredible score

This feels like 3 decades of Nolan’s work all led to this. A massive spectacle in every way. Leguizamo deserves a special shoutout among all fantastic performances. Best he’s ever been. Last hour alone makes this one of my best theater experiences this decade. I love movies.
