Sad to see aquifer water near Tucson now flowing for #projectblue 😢 Officials in Pima County, @pimacounty-d1.bsky.social along with the state of Arizona & ADWR are now serving decades of hard-earned, stored water to data rather than to people. People will pack Pima County's mtg. tonight to protest 🥊
Drill rig at the Project Blue Data Center site that has been running for months, to fast track a #projectblue data center in Pima County AZ. Pumping begins from well #1 of 2 that will pump 31+ million gallons per year, right under #projectblue deadly PFAS laden data centers that have been approved in Pima County, endangering the regions' only water source.Pump company that installs the pumps to run the wells at the #projectblue data center site near Tucson.

Who will hold ADWR accountable? They are also allowing non-compliant groundwater pumping in the Tucson AMA for the construction of the #projectblue data centers. Everyone knows about it, it's been going on for months, and no one will do the bare minimum to stop it, or fine the perpetrators $10K/day

No wonder TEP wants to lock Tucson into a 25 YEAR franchise agreement that does absolutely NOTHING to improve the grid for customers in Pima County. Quite the opposite. TEP's taken away our solar incentives, refused underground and shunned the sun 😵‍💫 charging ratepayers for their billions in profit 🥵

It is sad and not statistically helpful when doctors refuse to put 'heat-related' on death certificates; my mother happened to die alongside 600 other poor souls during an extreme heat event. An underlying condition that would not have killed her that day was obstinately listed as the sole cause 💔

He died of 'natural causes.' But his mother says she knows what killed him: heat
When Arizona counts heat-related deaths, Adam Willson isn't included. His story shows how thousands of heat deaths can go uncounted every year in the United States.

Hassett’s sales pitch ignores reality. Data centers create surprisingly few permanent jobs once they’re built. They consume enormous amounts of electricity and water, drive up land values, and often leave local communities footing the bill for infrastructure.
Aaron Rupar ® @atrupar
X.com
Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns, because they create so many jobs and bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses and stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years and put a data center there, there are gonna be a whole bunch of happy residents."
