Just to be clear for new followers: Trans rights are human rights. People can never be "illegal". Israel is committing genocide. The US is stolen land. Everyone deserves healthcare, bodily autonomy, education, housing and food. Black lives matter. ACAB.

...fireworks seem too ironic for today... Hypocrisy on full display.

A public fireworks display above the Arkansas River. It is a bit out of season for Little Rock, Arkansas...but not out of character.

...the things I didn't say.... my heart is too heavy to be able to fight anything

{I love you too, thank you for helping.

I do not know what "they" want to hear.

I was never trained to lie on an application or my resume.

I was told to prove it.
I was told to get a degree. The more the better.

I was told to work hard.... work HARDER.

I was trained to do as I was told, Shut The Fuck Up, and deal with the consequences. Apparently I do not work hard enough or efficiently enough to merit employment or a better place in society.

Arkansas doesn't want me - even when I'm silent and shoved in a corner to be punished by society.

America does not care what tolls on a human it takes to be a professional artist - people just want the art immediately in front of them exactly how it lives in their own heads. I am a shit artist.

I cannot agree to "hanging up the lasso of truth" just to get a job in a place that categorically has never wanted me to stay.

I do not want to be employed in Arkansas because Arkansas does not care about me, my life, or how I can survive in the hellscape the subculture has crafted here in theSouth.

I'm not here to set up roots.
I want to escape this hell. I've been trying to escape this hell, silently, since I was twelve.

I HAVE DREAMED OF ESCAPING THIS HELL FOR SWENTY SEVEN YEARS. Now I'm trapped worse than ever.

Wonder Woman and her myths were a sanctuary for me when I was extremely young. She was also a reason I was bullied here as an slightly older child... "pick yourself up by the bootstraps" coded Wonder Woman advice feels too similar to a backhanded compliment at this point... }

But these are the things I should not speak aloud.
I am cruel, unkind, and overbearing...

I truly hope people and society begin to understand: you cannot separate art from artist. Stop trying, it allows predators to go unnoticed constantly. archive.ph/zXyjY

So many memories in such a simple object... I don't know if this one was used for comics, illustrations, or animation... But this pencil has been well loved and it's nice to have found it again. I hope I can create something great with it again. #SurvivingArtist

The Tulsa Race Massacre was not committed by an uncontrolled mob but was the result of “a coordinated, military-style attack” by white citizens, the Justice Department said in a report. It was the first time the U.S. government has given an official account of the 1921 massacre of Black residents.

The Justice Department’s conclusion follows an investigation of the 1921 atrocity in Oklahoma in which up to 300 Black residents were killed.

The media has focused on wealthy, White neighborhoods. But the fire in Altadena--a racially and economically diverse suburb--deserves more attention, because insurance may not cover their rebuilding costs, forcing families out and leading the neighborhood to gentrify. www.reuters.com/world/us/far...

Again, for the Grandparents' entertainment and happiness? The cops can stare at the birds in the backyard too. Hell, they may even catch a glimpse of someone in a robe. The "AI Identification" would motivate them into activity once I got it set up appropriately.

Honestly, the two Grands would love this... it would help them identity the flock of various birds that live in our backyard sanctuary. 😅 The birds here are fat, content, and more than happy to sit in weird things for food.

Winter has arrived. Mother Nature's wrath is terrifying... as friend's lives burn away, I hunker down with the household, hoping we have prepped enough for the frozen storm slushing over us.

Black and white photograph, with an odd colored lens flare, showing a gentle blanket of snow hushing over a nondescript backyard nestled away somewhere in theSouth; the occupants keenly aware of how severe life would be if they were on the other side of the basement wall...

My heart screams with the earth blazing in California. Clean yourself beautifully, Mother. We deserve the punishment. My heart breaks for friends and family affected. Please, get out and stay safe. We can always rebuild with what survives. We have done it before

Kaitlin Is Just Getting Started @gothamgirlblue.com · 22/12/2024

I began asking for us to reframe DEI as integration back in February but also time is a flat circle

A screenshot of the column “The Evisceration of Diversity Programs Is Upon Us” by Kaitlin Byrd at Dame Magazine:

Affirmative action, DEI, minority- and women-oriented grants, LGBTQ+ equality— all are simply tools for an integrated society, where no one is set aside for who they are but recognized for what they can be. Integration takes the bait out of the trap; it creates affirmation rather than defensiveness; it asks us not to seek out what makes a given candidate insufficient, but what makes them special.

Imagine, instead of seeing headlines about Republicans and conservatives eviscerating diversity initiatives, we read "Ron DeSantis Guts Integration Efforts." We can (and should) attach the label to everything that encourages the marginalized to take up space, because segregation is the reality of rejecting these programs. The problem of pre-Civil Rights America was not that there were no Black people anywhere; it was that we were confined to what white people would allow us to be. To accept the absence of integration is to put ourselves back in a box. I simply refuse.

I met my spouse while training. I watched him give over a decade of his life to this style, raising other people's children and supporting all growth. But when he needed help, the community abandoned him. So much needs to heal from that style - physically and emotionally. Cuong Nhu is not safe.

I wish this was a different skyline. I see the beauty but I am only reminded of the places that felt like home and how this place seems to mock my desire for stability.

Land and tree are silhouetted against a muted-colored sky of sunset. A small ripple appears in the left lower half of a boat snaking upriver towards the camera.

As a child, I learned to make art as silently as possible... ~ if things were too noisy or smelly, I would be asked politely "How much longer?" But their eyes, facial expression, and body language spoke differently. Instead, I was messy. And I learned: Keep hidden and don't disturb anyone.

Please don't compromise your morals and ethics ... if your community won't support you unless you compromise those two aspects, it that really *your* community? You're only learning to being okay with your neighbor suffering for you... like other points in history.
