Bluesky gets there eventually. Perhaps last week's declaration of the Claction result was actually the one from 2024?

A list of trending topics on BlueSky. Number 2 reads "Zohran Mamdani becomes NYC mayor".

OK, but the image preview is a wild ride in passive-aggressiveness ...

Speculating you're aiming that at me, at no point did I suggest anything of the sort. This tweet refers to you. ⬇️

Incredibly underrated movie, with an excellent performance by Robert Picado (later the EMH in Star Trek Voyager).

Movie poster for the 1984 movie Explorers. The poster shows the junkyard spaceship leaving Earth's atmosphere, underneath the faces of the 3 main characters Ben, Wolfgang and Darren. The middle shows the movie's name with River Phoenix and Ethan Hawke written above.

This one is going to throw people, but yes, Stephen King did a story about time travel, and the concept he came up with is brilliantly original - coupled with a horror storyline.

Title card from the TV Movie "The Langoliers" based on the story by Stephen King.

The font size seems somewhat too small for up to and including the 7th doctor. Keep in mind, these were shown on 576i TV sets... picture quality was pants. The 1st and 2nd doctors were even intended to be shown on 405-line television (what's that... 386i?) (left is default 30pt, right is 52pt)

Found it. Gareeca Gordon is not trans. Jess Phillips is not a good person.

A screenshot of a now deleted Jess Phillips tweet that says "If you want to see where it leads when we don't have specialist women's refuges for vulnerable women look at the case of Phoenix Netts who was killed while in accommodation some called a 'refuge' it wasn't and a man in that 'refuge' is currently standing trial for her murder"

"This is bizarre. These three members of the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party seem willing to eat our faces. How on Earth did that happen?"

A screenshot from Mumsnet, titled "How very strange?" It notes that Wes Streeting (Minister of Health), Bridge Philipson (Minister for Women and Equalities), and Rose Duffield (ex-Labour transphobic mess, described falsely as "champion of women's rights") abstained from voting to decriminalise abortion.

The lower text reads "Seems a bit strange that these three top feminists, two of whom have direct responsibility for women's health, would not bother to vote?"

She actually did it. She played the "I've got friends who are trans" card.

“It was never an anti-transgender situation; I’ve got friends who’ve got a transgender son. It’s a pro-female thing. We had to fight so hard for our rights and our equality. We don’t have it in so many fields, and we certainly don’t have it in sport.”

OK students, how many factually inaccurate claims can you spot in this "I'm not a transphobe honest" Facebook post?

A screenshot from Facebook user Lorraine Gordon that reads "Rebecca Gellman I am so sick to my fucking core of Your Cults perceived Victimhood. YOU & your Cult have MORE rights than Me, a Woman. You have the rights to invade my safe spaces despite my objections, you have taken & FOUGHT for Women losing their jobs/entire careers all for believing in biological Sex, you have invaded Women’s Sports/Prisons & DV Shelters and after ALL that Fucking AGP Predators who claim they are/want to be Us threaten to “Skin” Women alive. Aye right Pal, get tae fuck with your narcissistic “Victim here” narrative. We’ve had enough 🤬🤬🤷‍♀️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿"

Trump: Iran has agreed to a number of key details, so we won't be bombing them. Iran: Err... we haven't even spoken to you dude.

This is a 30 minute video, with no less than 25 advertising breaks. Before anyone says "but that the same as one advert break on ITV!" no it's not. It's 25. Advert. Breaks. Interruptions to the video. THIS YouTube is why you're locked in a battle with ad blockers! End this bullshit!

Been reading about the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and how boycotts were called for and ultimately ignored. Feels relevant to upcoming events in the US. Wikipedia has this cartoon from the time. History is rhyming again.

A political cartoon from 1936 regarding the Berlin Olympics. Nazi athletes seig heil while goose stepping over The Olympic Spirit, while an axe marked "Nazi Justice" chops at a tree stump marked "sport". In the background is a cage marked "concentration camp" with people labelled "jew" and "trade unionist".

I've just seen this ad on Facebook. As an electronics engineer, let me tell you what's wrong here. 1. Pin 3 is pointless. Whatever that chip is supposed to, all pin 3 can ever do is drain a capacitor. 2. No positive supply to that IC. 1/

Saw this posted on Facebook. In interesting post that suggests trans and disabled hate will be made equal to e.g. race hate (if the amendment passes). Note: this is not talking about the Equality Act, but specifically hate crimes.

Being trans will now be a protected characteristic under the law, alongside disability.
Thanks to an amendment introduced by Lord Hanson, trans people will have the same legal protections as those protected on the basis of gender, race, religion, sexuality, and other characteristics.
This is especially key in making hate crime legislation completely equal, now trans and disabled people will have the same protections as other groups.

This "menn diagram" from TikToker littlejar is annoyingly accurate, but for one detail. I'm looking for that yellow bit marked "Nerd". BUT NONE OF THEM ARE SINGLE. grr

The "Menn Diagram" from littlejar on TikTok. The 3 large circles are Handome, Smart and Nice. Handsome+Smart=Jerk. Hansome+Nice=Dumb. Smart+Nice=Nerd, and all 3 means gay.
