And… done! Faber-Castel Polychromos. This set of pencils that started my obsession years ago, it has been waiting for recognition way too long. Good pencils, would recommend. #colornerd #colorwheel #fabercastel #polychromos #colorpencilsrtist #colorpencilart

And back to business. Have three color wheels to finish, one to draft, a small one to make from scratch. And a humongous box of paints (100 colors!) to tackle not sure yet on what scale even. #colortheory #colorwheel #womenwhodrawwithpencils #femalesrtist

Been offline for a week, enjoying Hamburg. Friends, sunshine, sketching 💚

Time to bite the bullet and figure out Brit’s fascination with David Hockney. Not my favorite artist, so I’ve borrowed four books from the library to try and understand the phenomenon.

I’ve just spent my last credit at Audible 😭 I’m very happy with Libro.fm and Libby app. But quitting Audible is hard. They have the largest catalog by far and produce so many books. It’s been a couple of months for me and I still miss it so much, even when using above mentioned apps every day.

Another Caran D’Ache color wheel in the making. Saves a bit of time looking up same colors on other Caran D’Ache color schemes I’ve done previously. A lot of matches with pastel pencils (I’m currently making). #colortheory #colorwheel #carandache #artwip

A draftsman table with three framed color wheels and one in the making: small paper samples of colors spread on a glued together large color wheels schematics. Starting at 12 colors go from yellow to green to teals to blues at 6 to purples to reds to skin tones and oranges. Blacks and whites are in the center. Colors go from dark in the middle to light at the edges.

We have Heytea opened in our area. After initial mayhem we’ve braved a short queue to find out what’s all the fuss is about and… it’s the bestest bubble tea I’ve ever tried. I could never imagine matcha latte taste so good. The cheese cloud is like liquid cheese cake. New comfort food unlocked.

Neon blue paint meh. Fluorescent paints, in this range at least, feel oily and unruly, especially compared to the rest opaque matte colors. Red is okay, green and blue not so much. Wonder if it’s true for another brands. Still, looking forward to using this sketchbook for sunny days to come!

Also quite a bit mad at myself for ruining (am I the drama?!) boards with new fixative. Foam dried to while specks and there’s no way of getting rid of them. Surface is otherwise fixed and nicely textured for the next layer of pencils. Blaming myself for not applying it properly. Live and learn!

Failed my no-spend-March miserably, clutching at the metal boba straw. It’s a minor setback though. A somewhat useful thingie: I hate wasting a bit of tea and pearls every time paper straw disintegrates. So I won’t let it to bring me down completely. Two more weeks to go. Also double mango 🥭🧡

Tried new fixative without prior testing and… Yikes! It spewed foam all over. Maybe it’s supposed to do that for the texture? Will see how next layer goes. I feel I might have screwed it up. But if so I’ll get another bottle and try again. #artwip #artsky #colorpencilart #womenwhodraw

Trying out new ideas! First layer of my first attempt in bold colors with pencils on panel. Colorful is scary, but I’m enjoying the ride. Going for more abstract entangled style. Want to capture the feeling more than details. Might take botanical art rout later.

A small bright red panel with red flowers drawing in color pencils. Drawing is lose and leaning to abstract. It has a messy partial background of blues. Contrast of colors makes them pop. Flowers are Chinese quince.

Working late today on Caran D’Ache Pablo pencils colour wheel. I’m very clumsy and work around potential disasters covering every surface possible with tissue paper when I work on my drawings. I still manage to mess things up, but not too much.
