And often a toxic burst of racism / misogyny / homophobia etc unconvincingly presented as some kind of satire or confrontation or irony, when it's just racism / misogyny / homophobia

While we're at it, has anyone come across a digital version - streaming, torrent, etc - of the Archaos documentary? I had a copy on VHS but that's long gone youtu.be/LitSzoDcHjY?...

I wish there'd been more about Treworgey, I wish the Spirals weren't still so cultish and self mythologising. But mostly this was a beautiful labour of love that made me feel old and sad but also glad I was there for so much of it.

245. Free Party (Amazon, 2023 - Aaron Trinder) Nostalgic, euphoric, kinda tragic. I was at a few of the pivotal moments featured - Stonehenge (sort of), Treworgey, Glastonbury travellers field 1990, The Dolehouse, The Roundhouse etc. I saw a few people I knew, more I recognised. 1/2

Had a nap. For maybe the third time I dreamed I was one of the kids in Never Let Me Go and my time was nearly up. Woke up fully traumatised. Genuinely wish I'd never read / seen Never Let Me Go.

It's a shame to miss a Sandra Huller performance but you're more likely to find me eating kimchi than watching Iñárritu directing Cruise.

Apart from that, it's Raggety in the Rupert The Bear series. Terrifying, ugly little fucker

The Steve Reich weekend started with Clapping Music from 1972 and finished with this from a couple of years later and despite being roughly the same era, they bookended it perfectly. Mallets might be his best piece, a perfect blend of maths and melody www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Ev... G'night folks

Woke up with the Delines on my mind "She said he was her real-life Ponyboy I told her Ponyboy was made up by a 16-year-old girl She laughed and said she was 16 when she read the book, fell in love with him, and left home" www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd-A...

OMG I had to check my work emails regarding an extra case in court tomorrow and I've just read this from an HR person. "on a knee to nose basis" A KNEE TO NOSE BASIS 😳

I'm not sure how many times I've seen @the_delines - 6? 7? - but tonight they were as good as I've ever seen them. A sweet sad warm melancholy.

yep. Jumpin' Hot Jamboree, 2014. I spoke to Amy about it when I interviewed them and she honestly began to wonder if they were being driven into the woods to be murdered :D

Off to see The Delines tonight with Gordon Hart, so that'll be a sedate affair. Must be the seventh time I've seen them, since the first time in 2014 in a barn in Easington. Big up Graham Shipcote who keeps getting them back. What a band www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKqA...

A busy weekend incoming - I'm spending tonight and all Sunday at the Glasshouse watching Steve Reich performances for his 90th birthday , including all the hits like Different Trains, Electric Counterpoint, Clapping etc. And then tomorrow it's The Delines in Gosforth. youtu.be/MOAS6ik796s?...
