As soon as you hear Fortune's Weave originally had 8 main routes instead of 4 you can't stop seeing it everywhere all over the game

On the random vs overworld encounters thing I think having encounters on the overworld makes your world less interesting to explore because I see the sea of enemies and immediately see it as homework instead of the game feeding me an adequate amount battles every 30 seconds to a minute

Game design meme for me and maybe three other people on this site.

Guy looking at random encounters: "Wow! RPGs are grindy!"
Text overhead: "Random encounters help ensure that the the play experiences combat at regular intervals instead of avoiding fights and ending up underpowered, increasing the risk of quitting entirely."

Woke up in the middle of the night to my first ever no knowledge just vibes manga buy, Everyone’s Darling Has a Secret, getting a TV anime announced and was excited before I realised it’s the same studio that ruined Tune Into The Midnight Heart 🥲🥲🥲

Well that’s another three hours I’ve hit 10 hours in two sessions

I stopped playing Fire Emblem a hour ago to do something else with my night but I can’t stop thinking about Fire Emblem so I think I’m going to play more Fire Emblem

I keep playing more of Fortune's Weave and whenever they drop something new my first thought is: "I think this is the best game ever??"

Time to play the thing that'll take up the next month of my life

Finished Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth This feels just like a shonen anime. Incredible premise that it doesn't necessarily live up to, good battle system, fantastic character designs that are wasted on mostly bad character writing with a few standouts, and it doesn't end fantastically I still cried

Best timeline would have GOTY at The Game Awards be Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Ace Combat 8, Resident Evil Requiem, Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, GTA6, and An Indie Game I Can't Think of But somehow there's a 70% chance only GTA6 makes the list out of those games

I think my attachment to various Digimon and Pokemon characters is so interesting because when it comes to Pokemon I don't care at all for the mons outside of the game, like I don't want to buy full arts and none of my chase cards are Pokemon But in Digimon it's literally the opposite. Idk either🤷‍♂️

Jack @staciabyte.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Off topic but this is why I can’t nap I have woken up 2 hours later feeling worse than I was before

I felt like shit and went to sleep for a couple hours what do you mean they cancelled Armed Fantasia I’m still sleeping right

Jack @staciabyte.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Felt like doing some pulls on Wonder Acute's banner and in 30 I got Wonder Acute herself and Summer Maruzensky Considering I now have SMaru and VBourbon I should really try and run a meta team for the next CM...

I feel like Media Vision are one of the most underrated developers in the industry Like just a small sample of their gameography is pure all-timers. I mean, the Digimon Story games from Cyber Sleuth onwards, Valkyria Chronicles, the combat portions of Hundred Line, WILD ARMS??? Insane lineup

110

I’ve been playing Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and I’m on chapter 13 it’s been fun but someone needs to sit me down and force me to finish this because Fortune’s Weave keeps staring at me like the Green Goblin mask

I don’t have Fortune’s Weave but I keep seeing horror stories of missing stuff in Fortune’s Weave because of the calendar system like planning your trip but getting back at 6pm so you miss a match that starts at 1pm or entire paralogues and this sounds like the best game ever I can’t lie

Jack @staciabyte.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I have such an urge to make low effort fun fact YT Shorts content because I think they're incredibly funny (and lowkey kinda neat) but my integrity stops me from doing so

100

I couldn't find the link to the actual website so you'll have to excuse the layout but here's my 9 games! Nobody ever expects the football manager 16 pick Jack lore in the alt text if you're curious :)

Persona 5 Royal: I got bullied out of liking anime in 2015 (remember when liking anime wasn't cool?), but during the time between then and 2019 I kept listening to podcasts and such and I heard Persona 5 was good a couple times, through IGN mostly. I picked it up on a cheap sale in 2018 and never played it, but when Joker was added to Smash and I loved him, I decided to try it out and it became my first non-Pokémon JRPG and is the reason I'm here today. Life changing media at its finest

SC: Following on from above, Trails was the second ever JRPG franchise I invested in and SC in particular ruined me. The beach scene still lives rent free. But more importantly, SC is where my love of the sequel began. I love them more than anything, and it's all because of SC in 2019.

Pokemon Black 2: Much like anime, I was bullied out of liking Pokemon in 2010ish, and then 2 years later I got back into it with B2W2 and that's the entire story. We're here today because of that :)

Witcher 3: I don't even love this game that much these days but it was my first foray into anything non-FIFA/Pokemon, and I remember buying it as a reward for finishing exams on launch day. Very nostalgic

FM16: I love FM more than most games I just don't talk about it they're there when nothing else is, FM16 is just the best one :)

Halo CE: My first ever game! It's also the reason I'm scared of the dark because the 5 minutes I played was level 4 where you're sneaking onto the ship. Whoops.

Ty 2: My first real memory of a game *I* owned was Ty, and I really need to go back and play them again

Ruby: My Gen 1. Gen 3 is my home, I had a bootleg copy and it wouldn't save so I never beat it until 2014ish after ORAS lmao. Love it. Wouldn't have changed a thing. Groudon's still my boy.

BotW: I was in a gaming burnout in 2017 and thought games might not be for me anymore, but BotW came along and had an answer for every question I had and it got me back in to the point it's why I still play games today :)

I'm very tired at the amount of times I now see the numbers "6" and "7" next to each other in the wild I used to laugh at it. Now I think the world is laughing at me

Had the urge to do a Metroid series run suddenly out of nowhere Hmm

Jack @staciabyte.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Recently I keep playing and finishing games and thinking “yeah that was alright” Where’s my 10 at guys I’m getting real tired of 6s and 7s

Finished Yuru Camp S1 That was the comfiest, coziest, warmest, heartfilling-est show ever Really captures feeling like you’re right there with them, eating hearty Japanese meals and looking at Mt. Fuji and freezing to death … I should have Katsu for dinner

I've only seen the Sky 2nd Chapter photo mode used for yuri so far and I think that should be a sign of what the people want Falcom

It will forever be upsetting to me that I don't have a character where I am the only person who's obsessed with them

I've been playing Moonlighter and I can't put it down but I also can't decide whether I like it or not What is my head doing

Earnestness can feel like a crime in this day and age. Game discourse and conversation is a mire plagued by reactionary weirdos and players with unreasonable demands. Few people know how to explain the downside of a work or voice their disagreements without spiraling into a tornado of invective filth. Yet, from time to time, there are heroes in our stories that embody the proper path. Trails is packed with those earnest heroes, and spending time with them kicks so much ass.

04210

I’m gonna be honest I am stunned it didn’t crack 90

200

2nd Chapter getting a 92 Metacritic is expected because SC’s a classic and these remakes are best in class but that’s high enough that I really want to believe journalists looking for missed GOTY contenders via top Metacritic scores at the end of the year might end up playing it lol

150

In the Neowiz Garghav announcement it’s stated Trails has now sold 10 million units series wide, up from 9 million at the end of September last year The amount of good the Sky remake has done for this series is immeasurable

ALT: Yuru Camp Laid Back Camp

I’m halfway through S1 of Yuru Camp and it’s so cozy I want to go camping in the Japanese countryside and eat various homely and comforting Japanese dishes it’s not fair

Very happy Crunchyroll is dubbing Magic Knight Rayearth next season I genuinely didn't expect them to dub a classic IP considering they have a like a 30% hit rate for that kind of thing

Been having severe Makoto P5 brainrot recently but a P5 playthrough would be a hundred hours and therefore I must stop myself

Anime season is wrapping up in a week and that means the best time of the season is coming up: Binging everything you've been waiting 3 months to watch because you physically cannot watch something weekly because the modern landscape of media consumption has ruined my brain
