iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

To this day I irrationally get annoyed about the breathing styles in Demon Slayer not being 100% diegetic within its own world.

I am thrilled and proud beyond measure to support the amazing workers who create and design the games I and my loved ones have spent a lifetime playing. I implore everybody to sign the petition and signal boost the campaign as far and wide as we can!

This morning, the D&D team and Magic's Studio X informed our leadership of our intent to unionize. We love the games we make and the work we do, and unionizing is how we protect that work. unitedwizardsofthecoast.com/news/dnd-stu...

Still pretty sad about this whole situation. It’s hard when a creative you liked turns out to be evil. Also really sucks that the victim herself didn’t have a say in this info getting out.

Hey Chris, great piece. Always down for a good ol’ DS2 defense. Have you seen the DS2 Lighting Engine mod? I think the base game still looks great, but this mod is genuinely an insane technical achievement: youtu.be/OnKubRQMP-0?...

Always shocked when a video game presentation doesn’t end with a “And we’ve got one last thing…”. Just seems like a very easy crowd-pleaser tactic.

I meant that I posted these thoughts on the other site and wanted to share them here as well.

Steve Stark 🌕 @sstarkm.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

But this isn’t the way. I promise that I understand the scary situation the industry is in right now, but AI is only meant to make the art industry cheaper for investors, and after they’re done laying off thousands of artists that didn’t take their deals, they’ll lay you off next.

Steve Stark 🌕 @sstarkm.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

One last thing, I do share some empathy for Jorge. As said in the first tweet, the animation industry is barren right now. Artists new and old are scared and want to give their families a life. It’s a similar reason why some bigger artists gravitated towards NFT’s

Steve Stark 🌕 @sstarkm.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

Big artists like Jorge playing with AI normalizes it in a way that dumb techbros can’t. You hurt your entire industry by doing this because it emboldens companies to 1. Use AI more, and 2. In that pursuit, incentivizing them to layoff many artists. Some truly turncoat behavior.

Some thoughts about this from the other site, specifically about Jorge: TV animation is in a really bad state right now between the rise of streaming, AI, and shorter attention spans. Very, very hard to get anything greenlit right now, and I promise I understand the fear that comes with that; but…

Been reading a chapter of ‘Neuromancer’ every day, and it’s so, so good. It’s also funny to see so much of the modern language of the cyberpunk genre just within the first few chapters. Art by Juan Gimenez.

In fairness, Elden Ring is probably the least lonely souls game they’ve ever made, but yeah I’d love something more quiet and meditative.

Steve Stark 🌕 @sstarkm.bsky.social · 21/04/2026

There’s so many stories to tell in this world, and I think it’d be great to have a film that tightly focuses on a few, rather than so many all at once.

Steve Stark 🌕 @sstarkm.bsky.social · 21/04/2026

I actually would love this film to not be as action-heavy, or at least have the action as a backdrop in the world, and not the focus. To me, some of my favorite Elden Ring moments are the quieter ones.

Steve Stark 🌕 @sstarkm.bsky.social · 10/04/2026

Still playing through Cyberpunk, now in the DLC. While I actually quite like the main story, it's not paced the best, and sometimes feels unfocused. In contrast, the DLC feels tight and to the point, and I've constantly muttered "hell yeah" during missions. Also it remains extremely pretty.

It’s funny how Nintendo games these days are like “you know that one song from an older game you love? Well what if it was now remixed in a slightly jazzy style?” and they get my ass every time.
