Struggling with my usual indecision trying to decide which language to learn next. My life circumstances push me towards French, but a) I've regretted abandoning Japanese for literal years and b) I yearn to finally learn Georgian, and it would be useful, but it's SO DIFFICULT it's intimidating me

I'm generally happy with Linux so far, but every once in a while a task comes up where I desperately need to use Photoshop and I still haven't found a good enough solution. Only my hatred for Microsoft keeps me on the path, because this is a massive pain in the ass right now.

I have a ton of old unposted #Umineko pictures, thought this one might be fun for someone. These should've been character portraits for an Ace Attorney AU taking place in 1992 so that Battler is the same age as Phoenix was in AA1, with other characters also aged-up accordingly.

Finally watched FW direct - there'd be a lot brown-skinned people here if any of them looked actually brown and not on a scale from "a bit too ashy" to "just plain grey" huh - character design is more detailed and vibrant than in 3H, some are cool but for my taste there are more real stinkers too

I've been seriously trying to get myself together this year. I am more fit than ever, keeping my gaming in check, learned to... tolerate cooking (still hate it tho), made real progress with my language studies. But as long as I have no job it all feels like such a pointless waste of time

Gave in and tried out Blue Prince. It's as great as everyone said and, as expected, is exactly My Shit. Just found Room 46 this evening but I've got a lot of hints as to what to do next written down. My only gripe is a lack of a "save & exit", I can only assume it's this way for a technical reason

What do runners do in hot weather, provided I absolutely do not have money for a gym? I have actually made progress with running this spring, but my mornings are busy until ~9 and by then it's too hot. Do I wait until dusk? Or do experienced runners just bear with the heat?

Had a nightmare week on top of a heat wave, feeling completely drained today. Gonna make myself some tteokbokki and probably waste the entire (free half of the) day. I think our household has spent a good 35-40% of this year sick in one way or another.

Quietly and steadily, I think Sunless Skies became one of my favourite games. Never had a "fan" period with it, but to this day I think about it often and remember its stories more vividly than most games'. Which makes me think I should probably check out Fallen London, but it's quite intimidating.

Finished RE9. Grace's segments: brilliant, 10/10, peak RE, the Care Center is legit in my top 3 RE locations. Unfortunately, I didn't care for Raccoon City. It's good mechanically but a tonal mess, one that left me ambivalent and kinda bored. ARK is fine. It's a RE lab, we know it, we love it

I was asked to give my thoughts on generative AI usage in games - here they are!

"Look, I am not a fool – I understand that AI has some uses. Primary among those being the devaluing of work, the cheapening of labour, the laying off of creatives, and the generation of busywork for humans to fix whatever AI generates."

"It's also useful for burning through water, raising the prices of RAM and chipsets globally, and poisoning anyone near the data centres that run them. So there are a lot of use cases for AI. From spurring on the death of the creative endeavour to dissolving our economy, AI is absolutely gangbusters at what it does. We don't use it in our studio though."

Been playing Metaphor:ReFantazio lately and enjoying it so much I'm not even playing RE9 until I finish. Far as I'm concerned, it's an improvement over P5 in most aspects, the only big exception being the visuals. I'm glad we got this instead of P6, thank you Atlus.

Playing CoM: Archolos is my comfy zone. There's just something about Gothic-likes that makes me relax. Never do I want to listen to a podcast while backtracking through the forests, I'm just vibing and sitting with my thoughts in a way I can't in any "comfy" game. Dunno why, maybe just nostalgia.

Practically forced myself to finish Infinite Wealth. I think this game will remain in my memory as a fun experience that also made me emotional about Kiryu again, but I won't forget the way it made me struggle against my worst habits, either.

Honestly, I remember Paranormasight as a pretty mediocre mystery where characters run in circles until a massive total exposition that didn't feel earned. It was pleasant but not at all captivating for me (except for the beautiful character art). Still, happy it got a sequel and will check it out.

Been spending my nights in LaD: Infinite Wealth and I love a lot of things in it, especially Kiryu's story. But it's jam-packed with checklists in a way LaD wasn't, and it takes me concentrated mental effort to keep myself from grinding everything out to the point it began ruining the fun.

SH: Revelations was, unironically, one of the most memorable movie-watching experiences in my life. It's exactly the right kind of silly-bad that I laughed for most of it and had a great time. It's unfortunate but very predictable that SH2 gets the actually rancid sort of bad adaptation instead.
