A word of caution: it might feel like that grant/paper/review cannot possibly wait over the Christmas period, but you can't get time with friends and family back. You likely won't be like "really wish I'd submitted that" in 5 years time but you might regret not spending time with those you love.

Sanli Faez at the Recognition and Rewards Festival 2024: “In a team, the leader is accountable to the others in the team. In a chiefdom, the leader is accountable to the outside.” We want teams, not chiefdoms.

This is super cool - and in different languages, so that as many different kids as possible can talk to a scientist.

Yes! And it seems like sticking to values is in line with this. Integrity, trust, etc…

Here’s a picture of my cat. I’ve heard these things are popular on social media. Lilo says hi. I’ll start posting research culture stuff later, first killing time in an airport after a really nice #REvaluation24 conference. Lots of ideas to chew on, and new people to push forward with… 😀

Should research assessment reform be ‘as aligned as possible, as diverse as needed’? Read the last piece in this series developed in conversation with awesome women in research evaluation: @lizziegadd.bsky.social Noémie Aubert Bonn, Claire Fraser, Haley Hazlett & Anna Hatch.
