Update - Melissa Berntsen (aka NicoOregon) has been charged with a bias crime for her behavior at Hillsboro Pride, as well as harassment and unlawful use of mace. We still encourage the victims to pursue civil action against her, if they have not already done so.

Pride events in Northern and Central Oregon should start preparing for targeted threats like this by forming safety teams complete with de-escalators, physical responders, medicals, and legal observers. AG's should also stack these events and be prepared to intervene on their own terms.

Finally, Melissa asked the cops about why the alleged phone-tosser wasn't arrested & says she wants to press charges. They say they tried looking her up & couldn't find her, so she admits she gave them fake info, and that cops have let her do that before "to avoid doxing".

Melissa got only a 24hr ban from the park despite macing numerous attendees, plus a kid and a cop. Only one person was detained by police - an event attendee Melissa claims took her phone and threw it. She was recording the whole time, but seems to have clipped this part of out of her stream.
