Happy 80th birthday to one of the greatest voices of her generation, LINDA RONSTADT ❤️ (July 15, 1946)

Linda Maria Ronstadt was a founding member and singer of late '60s folk-rock group THE STONE PONEYS before becoming a solo artist in the early '70s. She's not a songwriter but she delivers powerful renditions of songs by other writers. "Ronstadt" favorites include "Rock Me On The Water", "I Fall To Pieces", "Lovesick Blues", "He Darked The Sun", "Desperado", "You're No Good", "When Will I Be Loved", "Tracks Of My Tears", "Heatwave", "It's So Easy", "Blue Bayou", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Tumbling Dice" and "That'll Be The Day" among others. Linda appears on one of my favorite obscure jam session albums, "Music From Free Creek", released in 1973. She does two songs, "He Darked The Sun" and "Living Like A Fool". She made her film debut in the 1978 movie "FM". She performs live versions of "Tumbling Dice" and "Poor Poor Pitiful Me". She explores her Latin heritage with her release "Canciones De Mis Padres" (Songs Of My Fathers).
