one of my personal rules is, every new idea has to pass through three questions first: "is it a meaningful addition?", "does it fit the overall systems already in place?", and "does it accomplish something that an existing system can't be fitted to do?" it definitely does help to stay in check

"all rpgs are extremely long" factoid actually statistical error. average rpg is 30 to 40 hours. Georgsona 5, which takes 150+ hours to complete a single run, is an outlier and should not have been counted

actually i kinda *do* think using genAI should be such a social faux pas that the user is marked as a pariah and no longer feels welcome in the community. "AI is bad" is no longer an abstract (it never was), my city has been under a boil water advisory for a week because of AI data centers
