Pro tip: you don’t have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they can’t support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! It’s completely free outside of an internet connection ;)

July and August Photography in Warren
Back in June, I wrote about getting back into photography. When I wrote that, I had some pictures taken with my phone. Since then, I've shot through the three rolls of film that were hanging around in my camera bag as well as several fresh rolls, including my first black and white roll since high school. One of the common places I've taken photos is around Downtown Warren when I've been on lunch breaks.

Shot of stained glass at a church near my office. I love how the VERY expired and poorly stored Superia Xtra 400 rendered those blues. 📷 Canon EOS Rebel 2000 🎞 Fujifilm Superia Xtra 400
Extremely zoomed photo of facade to red brick church, circular stained glass in the center, deep blues contrasting the rust colored brick.

Took this shot of Downtown Youngstown a couple weeks ago and it came back yesterday. I really love the contrast on the FP4. 🎞 Ilford FP4+ 📷 Canon EOS Rebel 2000 #Photography
Black and white photo of a city street. Buildings are partially in shade, partially in sun, with shadows across corners and windows. Flowers appear in the foreground and a three wheeled motorcycle drives by.

A STARRED REVIEW! My three-headed dragon book got a starred review in Booklist! www.booklistonline.com/products/982...
An excerpt from the Booklist review of The Dragon Has Some Complaints, with a star next to the title denoting the book is special. The excerpt is just the start of the review, and reads "Centerhead, one of the three remaining heads of Garrodigh, the Great Terror, has complaints about everyone: the other wild dragons exclude him from their hiding spaces; the tame dragons won’t talk; the humans’ cannonball removed his missing head, Lefty, leaving him with PTSD and memory loss; and most of all, his other two heads, Upperhead and Bottomhead, are a constant bother. Regularly assailed by human air battles overhead, and unable to fly because of injuries from when they lost Lefty, Centerhead allows himself to be rescued as a “tame” dragon, planning to attack the Winged City from within. After they’ve fed him, of course. To his great surprise, he develops an attachment to some of the humans as they heal his..."

A couple weeks ago my usual game night had a cancelation and since I'd picked up XCrawl Classics on a whim during the DCC Sale at DriveThruRPG, I ran a one-shot. Since hearing the premise of the game, I'd been itching to get it, itching to read it, itching to run it. The premise is that in a fantasy dystopian United States analog (an empire ruled by Emperor Ronald I, aka Ronald Regan kept alive by an unholy mixture of advanced medicine and necromancy), dungeon crawling has become a reality TV phenomenon.

The Ritual of Imbibing
Many of my favorite memories from college come from the Friday Night Tea Parties my floor threw the whole time I was in school. They started on the first night we all moved into the dorms, as the members of International House learned we all had water heaters and our own diverse stashes of teas (and tisanes). We stayed up until sunrise chatting over tea and it became a tradition, expanding into whole trips down to the grocery store and shifts at the oven scheduled around classes to make cookies or bread or whatever to hand out.

The Hellbound Heart was, to me, an odd inclusion in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook (1st Edition) Appendix 3. This is, after all, the book that was adapted into Hellraiser. Yes, the movie with the creepy guy with pins in his head The inclusion of a contemporary horror story into a list that had historically included sword and sorcery pulp adventure, HP Lovecraft, and Lord of the Rings intrigued me.

In more recent days, the publisher has taken to calling that book Mazirian the Magician, the first book of The Dying Earth series. I've had this book sitting on my ereader for around ten years waiting to get around to reading it.

Per current discourse on #wizards and #wizard fiction: Seems a good time to menttion that if you're looking for other-series options, you can pick up the first nine #YoungWizards novels as #ebooks in a bundle. (Unless you're in the UK: we can't sell to you due to Brexit...sorry.) bit.ly/YWNMESET

I've been continuing my read through of titles from Appendix N and other RPG inspiration. In case you're one of today's lucky 10,000, Afroman won his case where the officers who entered his house without evidence sued him for saying they entered his house with less than enough evidence. Traverse Fantasy wrote interesting thoughts on James Talarico as a candidate…

Whenever I read literature from the Victorian era, I'm reminded a bit that the "repressed Victorian" is rather more a cultivated image than reality. I came across the title for this one from the Dolmenwood Player's Book list of Inspirational Media. So far, this one is unique among "Appendix N" reading I've done by being a poem (though I suppose Beowulf in Pathfinder Appendix 3 is one as well when I get to it...).
