Privatisation in a nutshell: 1) Steal from us something we own. 2) Sell us back an inferior service 3) Charge us a higher price. The pattern is the same everywhere: royal mail, water, railways, the NHS, public services, council services…

Yeahhhh. And Con. And dear Buttons is waving goodbye to the Reg Flag and her crew behind them which is a cute detail I'm only just noticing, because the actual scene is so dark.

Thanks! So he confirmed it was supposed to be Stede then?

It's the only correct period wig in the show, but I still don't think the painting looks remotely like Stede.

I really always thought that this was supposed to be a younger portrait of his Dad and he's sort of trying to prove something to his Dad. Look at me now Dad! If it was Stede, I figured Ed would've stabbed it in the heart (rather than the eyes) & cried over it.

People always say the picture on the left is a portrait of Stede. Has anyone in the show confirmed it? I always assumed it was an ancestor he's proud of. It looks NOTHING like him. Even the hair is brown & I can't imagine Stede wearing a brown wig. Compare to the actual portrait that looks like him.

On left is a side-on BTS pic of the dark drab portrait in the corridor to the Captains' cabin and on the left is Stede's family portrait where his face is pinker, rounder and his hair closer to his natural strawberry blond. His lace is also longer and he's wearing his favoured blue. It looks like Stede.

Just got a FB memory from 12 years ago " We are seeing Rhys Darby on Sunday night" And I was talking about how we'd just seen Bill Bailey. Fantastic October 2014

I was certainly getting the impression that he was being paid to tank it, which is why he kept getting those bonuses.

Give me romance and don't condescend to me. And keep your lit fic which continually thinks its reinventing the wheel. Stop pretending people being depressed and breaking up (or 'discovering reality') is more innovative than people navigating human relationships and love. Just stop.

So I did not meet him, but I managed to get my OFMD flag signed by Taika at the Wilderpeople screening. I wanted to share what he wrote because I think it shows how much he loves Ed, and therefore it is for all of us ❤️ That's the main point, but more details in the thread if you are interested!

Part of a navy blue flag with gold fleur-de-lis symbols. In gold marker is Taika's signature and the words, "To Chloe, Love from Ed AKA Blackbeard. XO"

I was disappointed at the distance at the Auckland gathering but figured they wanted the focus on the stars Sam & Rima, so Rhys stepped back. I hoped, as a tribute to Sam, that this might be more emotional & warrant some hugs or something. But it almost felt less emotional if anything. 🥺

After saying he fucking loved Him. (phew, that's made me so happy, cause after 3 years of no side by side photos or interviews I've been starting to worry)

I'm glad to learn too, that Trelane's jacket was the same one and has been put away for safety (I hope we get to see it again). Seeing him with Pike, I said "It's the battle of the Fabulous Hair!"

Anson Mount as Captain Pike with Rhys Darby as Tre(we're never actually told it's Trelane but it's hinted at pretty clearly!) who is about to click his fingers.

Having finally seen S4E7 of Star Trek SNW, I can read Rhys interviews etc. "Rhys' favorite trope belonged to Ethan Peck, who played the dual role of Mr. Spock and his "evil twin," Sybok." Yep! we were fanning ourselves at Hot Spock (as we call him) in leather pants, esp this moment!

Hot Spock (played by Ethan Peck) as his even Twin in S4e7 of Star Trek SNW He's wearing tight leather pants and a low cut black pirate shirt, with a long wig and he's bending over to show off his...assets while leaning in to suggest a kiss with La'an, also in black leather.
