I can’t emphasize enough how shocked my out of state friends and family are when I tell them what has happened in Minneapolis since Renee Good’s murder. Without reliable media, most not-chronically-online people are completely in the dark. If you want to help Minnesota, tell people what you know.

Six years ago I wrote in the Washington Post that police must not hide their face or name. Seems kind of pertinent now, right? Here’s a link to a free version of the piece I wrote. I was angry and sad then. I’m angry and sad now. Courage. Use it. Now. www.heraldnet.com/opinion/comm...

The ability to identify an officer — local or federal — is a requirement for accountability and trust.

It’s worth stating this simply: For literally anyone in the US Govt from 1945 to 2025, Signalgate would require an instant resignation—and a criminal investigation. It would be a matter of personal *honor* to resign. The fact Mike Waltz & Pete Hegseth are choosing to fight it out is a terrible omen.

18 USC 793(f) makes it a crime to remove national defense information from its proper place through gross negligence. Doesn’t matter whether info was classified. Signal chat is not a proper place.

Whether the agencies open an investigation will bring into sharp relief the intended approach of their leaders, Kash Patel and Pam Bondi, who promised to administer impartial justice.

NBC News: The Espionage Act contains a provision making it crime to disclose national defense secrets "through gross negligence."   The law does not require info be classified, because it was written before the classification system existed. The law refers simply to "national defense information."

Confirming, as was obvious from context already, that this wasn’t a one-off. They are routinely using Signal to evade statutory record retention requirements.

*Please share so EVERYONE hears this - THIS is the level of anger, rage and indignation we need to collectively be showing, voicing and channelling right now. NONE of this is 'Ok' and we need to let them KNOW. @kendallybrown (IG & TT) is speaking for ALL of us.

I've been thinking a lot about this @anandwrites.bsky.social post. In the first Trump term, I cared, a lot, constantly. I was extremely invested. And it was *excruciating*. I just don't think I can do that for another four years -- it would kill me. I've got to detach, dissociate a little bit.

SO many men addressing the election w/out even noticing the effect on women. I was starting to feel crazy in my rage towards all the men who obviously don't give a shit about us. Finally, a tidbit of acknowledgement, even though it's only at the very end of the article (and her post):
