I'm curious how this new order even works. If it's already permitted, can it get built? Do shovels have to be in the ground already?

Make Alberta America again? The fantastic Globe crew unearths even deeper ties between Alberta separatists and Republican officials, including a pledge to give the U.S. some of our resources in exchange for backing sovereignty www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

The elephant in the room
Alberta separatists have gone to D.C. offering fresh water and oil in exchange for American support – and Republican operatives have provided tactical assistance inside the province

I sent an email to my councilor encouraging her to vote no to this motion and you should too. I'm sick of aggressive behaviour on the behalf of motorists on the 79 street route. It's used for shortcutting and if you appear to impede that, you're subject to abuse.

About 6 or 7 years ago the city produced a report and held public consultations about “daylighting” mill creek. The last few hundred metres of the creek had been diverted through a culvert decades ago in preparation for a freeway that (thankfully) never got built. Those plans were abandoned …

Me on local fb page: I actually really like the plan for the bike lanes in my area because drivers can't be trusted to pass safely and I have had bad experiences, also it would be safer for kids. Responses: I don't believe you. Where is your VIDEO evidence of CHILDREN biking here? 🤦‍♀️#yegbike

This account is so interesting, but also some key gaps in data become apparent. If you bike from the southeast central area (e.g. Bonnie Doon, Strathearn, Forest Heights) into the East side of downtown, you're not captured by any bike counters. A counter at Tawatina bridge could solve this.

Gonna keep saying this: In the 1840s, Southerners insisted that they could kidnap any person they alleged was a slave without any state or federal process. This turned even minimal process into resistance and raised the salience of the issue, which radicalized a bunch of people against slavery.
