Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I'm curious how this new order even works. If it's already permitted, can it get built? Do shovels have to be in the ground already? 000
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I would think kids on bikes getting hit on some of these routes (like 79 street recently) would be a justifiable reason. I'd like to know what she means by justifiable. 050

Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 29/09/2026The exact line the local boomers used when denying the need for a 79 bike lane. Oh and they also wanted footage of random children to prove that kids bike to school. 130
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I get the feeling admin doesn't give an f if this is completed and hopes to just push it off until it's no longer feasible. 020

Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Did we get an estimate of how many people were there? She said it was the largest, but I was curious how many? Super fun ride! 120
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Listening in and feeling amazed how many eloquent, intelligent people are advocating for safe bike infrastructure here in Edmonton #yegbike 0100
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Right? I'd love to know. My two options to get out of my section of neighbourhood is either 101 (horrendous) and 79 (slightly less horrendous). Please show me where I can go that's safe and direct. 020
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I would love for them to identity what other route. The way these neighbourhoods are set up is basically all roads lead to 79 street. You have to bike on it at some point even if you take a side street. 020
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I've interacted with this lady on my local FB group. I told her about all the dangerous behaviour by drivers directed towards cyclists on this road. She doesn't give a fuck. 140

Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 17/08/2026The GBA+ analysis in the report just rings so hollow. Women cyclists are subject to not only regular abuse on behalf of motorists but misogynistic abuse as well, because men see women as easy targets. Ask me how I know. 000
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 17/08/2026I sent an email to my councilor encouraging her to vote no to this motion and you should too. I'm sick of aggressive behaviour on the behalf of motorists on the 79 street route. It's used for shortcutting and if you appear to impede that, you're subject to abuse. 120
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I bike 101 west of 79 every single day. I'm super pissed about the scrapping of the lane. It's only been marginally better lately because of the lane closure at the 75 street intersection. 030
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 29/07/2026It me...I'd love an opposite direction bike lane on my one-way street and I HATE how drivers speed down it as a shortcut. 110

Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 21/07/2026The city should make a fare free zone between government and university stations in the meantime to support active transportation users to get across the river. 000

Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Another day, another slew of drivers making illegal right turns on red almost mowing me down 010
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 13/07/2026I've said it before and I'll say it again: a Tawatina bridge counter would catch a lot of otherwise uncounted bike traffic from the southeast part of the city (myself included). 040
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 08/07/2026Tbh it's probably not even going to happen at this point with the UCP hostile bike legislation in the fall. I live in the area and east of 75 is terrible to bike. This would make it so much easier to get to Capilano. Right now I have to yeet it across 106 just after the Gretzky which is terrible. 130

Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Me on local fb page: I actually really like the plan for the bike lanes in my area because drivers can't be trusted to pass safely and I have had bad experiences, also it would be safer for kids. Responses: I don't believe you. Where is your VIDEO evidence of CHILDREN biking here? 🤦♀️#yegbike 1100
Sid @squidalisha.bsky.social · 17/06/2026This account is so interesting, but also some key gaps in data become apparent. If you bike from the southeast central area (e.g. Bonnie Doon, Strathearn, Forest Heights) into the East side of downtown, you're not captured by any bike counters. A counter at Tawatina bridge could solve this. 010
