Oh, this is cool. See these "stuttering" repetitions in the green background? That's what happens when you try to track a moving object while having a visual stabilizer engaged. It tries its best to get in your way in these situations. Haven't seen it this pronounced before. #photography

Another #hibiscus blooms, a red one this time. The structure of the inner stem (no idea what's that called) is quite different from the previous one. #photography #flower #bloom

The bloom of a red hibiscus fills almost all of the frame. The background is unstructured light to deep blue.
The lighting creates various deep shadows cast by different parts of the bloom onto itself.

Doesn't this white wagtail look happy? #BirdOfTheDay theme is #BestOfTheMonth. I did not find too many good #bird #photography moments this month. But this is so far the best picture of a #whitewagtail I have taken, so it's the obvious choice for me.

'See oder Teich' #FotoVorschlag Eine Stockente versucht sich zu trocknen.

Ufermauer eines kleinen Teichs in einem Park. Die Mauer geht von unten durch die Mitte in einer Kurve nach links oben. Rechts der Mauer ist Gras, das teils direkt durch die Sonne beleuchtet ist. Im Hintergrund sind verschwommen Stockenten.
Im Vordergrund eine männliche Stockente, die auf der Mauer steht und nach links richtung Teich gerichtet ist. Sie ist in direktem Sonnenlicht und schüttelt ihren Kopf. Dadurch fliegen von der Ente Wassertropfen, die im Sonnenlicht glitzern.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Redheads Two #woodpeckers chased each other through a dead tree. I thought these were great spotted woodpeckers, but looking at pictures in Wikipedia makes me doubt that now. However, red on the head #photography #birds

A shot up a dead, barkless tree, lit with dappled sunlight. The lower part is more in the shadows, where a woodpecker clings to the stem, looking up to another woodpecker. The second sits on higher up on a sunlit branch and is looking down.

For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #LightAndShadow I just took so many pictures today, I'll throw in another #mallard, a male this time. In this picture the bird is not solely responsible for the shadows #photography #bird #duck

At an artificial pond, the water surface is to the left in shadows, the containing wall is in the center of the picture going from bottom to top left in a curve. On the wall a male mallard stands, dipping its bill into the water to drink. To the right some grass is seen. The bid is lit from its behind, leaving the body quite well lit, the neck and head is in the shadows. The orange feet are quite pronounced.

The weather here can sometimes create really interesting light. #photography #street

Thank you! I was really lucky, there was another cormorant on this rock before, just spreading its wings to dry. Then this one came, forced the first off, and began flicking the water from its wings. 🍀

Those big eyes, fluffy head and serious expression are just too cute. ❤️ Do you think he's cute? Little fact: Vultures are nature’s clean-up crew. Their incredibly strong stomach acid allows them to safely digest carcasses that could contain harmful bacteria and disease.
