I’m a wildlife photographer in my spare time, chasing nature’s beauty through my lens. Ironically, the most incredible moments happen when my camera is at home, reminding me why I love what I do linkbio.co/6120508MJ6KnY

Mid-air drama! Two Black Kites going head-to-head during the flying display at @hawkconservancy and they almost look like a mirror image of each other! 😍 Which one do you think has the upper hand? 👀 #HawkConservancyTrust #blackkite #WildlifePhotography

Meet Sarabi This is Sarabi, a beautiful Lugger Falcon I photographed at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. Just look at those eyes! 👀 That fierce little stare definitely says “I see you…” 😂 Small bird, serious attitude! 📸 Katie Tanner Photography #LuggerFalcon #HawkConservancyTrust #WildlifePhotography

Small bird. BIG attitude. This little burrowing owl at the Hawk Conservancy Trust may be small and ridiculously cute… but that attitude is MIGHTY! and packed into a body the size of a coffee mug 💪🦉 Would you dare to tell him off? 😂

Those big eyes, fluffy head and serious expression are just too cute. ❤️ Do you think he's cute? Little fact: Vultures are nature’s clean-up crew. Their incredibly strong stomach acid allows them to safely digest carcasses that could contain harmful bacteria and disease.

Up close and personal with this gorgeous stork at the Hawk Conservancy Trust Looking rather coy… and very cute! 😂❤️ 🪶 Little fact: White storks are being reintroduced to the UK after disappearing as a breeding bird for around 600 years! 🇬🇧 #WhiteStork #HawkConservancyTrust #BritishWildlife

A striking portrait of one of nature’s most powerful raptors. 🪶 Did you know? Black Kites are close relatives of our native Red Kites and, like them, are opportunistic feeders that often soar effortlessly while searching for food. #BlackKite #BirdPhotography #HawkConservancyTrust

A close-up portrait of this beautiful Kookaburra, taken at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. Did you know? Kookaburras are actually part of the kingfisher family, although you probably wouldn't expect that from this rather impressive bill! 😍 #Kookaburra #HawkConservancyTrust

This beautiful Kookaburra was an absolute joy to photograph at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. Fun fact: despite looking very different from our familiar kingfishers, Kookaburras are actually members of the kingfisher family! What a beautiful bird. ❤️ #Kookaburra #Kingfisher #HawkConservancyTrust

“Psst… what are you doing over there?” 👀😂 Just a very nosy little parakeet checking out what I was up to from behind the tree. Subtle? Not exactly. Adorable? Absolutely. 🦜💚 #RingNeckedParakeet #Parakeet #WildlifePhotography #BritishWildlife #BirdPhotography

Caught red-handed… or should that be red-antlered? 😂🦌 This Bushy Park stag clearly decided the leaves were worth the effort. The lengths some of them will go to for a snack!

When the leaves are just out of reach… 😂 “Don’t worry, I’ve got this.” Bushy Park’s red stag demonstrating the questionable art of standing on two legs for dinner.

Just going about its business… This Common Tern was busy searching the boating pond at Bushy Park for its next meal, completely unfazed by all the model boats sailing around it.

A Common Tern on a mission! This beautiful tern was busy flying around the boating pond at Bushy Park, keeping a close eye on the water as it searched for something to eat. And all those model boats? Not a care in the world! 😂 It was completely unfazed by them as it went about its business.

Wings spread, bill raised, and calling out from the cliff edge. Razorbills may not be as colourful as puffins, but they have plenty of character. I caught this one in full display at Bempton Cliffs, showing off its striking black-and-white plumage and that distinctive deep bill.

While this gannet's striking blue eye and golden head immediately caught my attention, there's another detail I love in this image. Just visible slightly hidden by the grass, a second gannet is gently touching its partner's cheek a quiet moment of affection in a colony filled with noise and activity

Katie Tanner Photography @ktphotography.bsky.social · 07/06/2026
Among the hustle and bustle of Bempton's seabird city, these two gannets paused long enough to create a beautifully balanced portrait. Their pale blue eyes and soft golden crowns stood out against the muted background, while their opposite gazes gave the image an almost sculptural feel.

"Jazz hands!" Or at least that's what this Razor bill seems to think as it comes in for landing at Bempton Cliffs. The technique might need a little work, but the enthusiasm is definitely there!" 😂

This barn swallow paused on a wire for just a moment, singing its heart out in the warm summer sunshine. The rich chestnut throat, glossy blue-black feathers and that unmistakable forked tail make swallows one of the true highlights of the British summer. @rspb.bsky.social

House martins are remarkable little builders. At North Landing, Flamborough, these birds make use of the chalky cliff ledges, carefully collecting mud and shaping it into sturdy nests tucked beneath the overhangs for protection from the elements.

A Northern Gannet glides effortlessly above the deep blue sea at Bempton Cliffs, using the coastal winds to soar with barely a wingbeat. Watching these incredible seabirds in flight is always a highlight of a visit to this spectacular Yorkshire coastline.

With only around 3,000 puffins returning to Bempton Cliffs each year, they can be surprisingly hard to spot amongst the vast seabird colonies. But when you do find one, it's impossible not to smile. I was lucky enough to capture this puffin just as it came in to land on the cliff edge. 🧡🐧

Master of the cliffs. A northern gannet hangs effortlessly in the air at Bempton Cliffs, every feather working with the wind as it comes in to land. One of Britain's most spectacular seabirds, and always a joy to photograph.

A moment of calm amongst the chaos. One of Bempton Cliffs' iconic gannets taking a break on the cliff face, showing off those incredible blue eyes.

Nestled amongst a sea of daisies on the cliff edge at Bempton Cliffs, this beautiful gannet took a rare moment to rest. With those striking blue eyes and soft golden tones, it's easy to see why gannets are one of my favourite seabirds to photograph.

Yesterday at Thursley Common we had a lovely surprise spotting several Wheatears. There were five flying around their usual spot, constantly flitting about and perching up, plus another one further along the boardwalks. Always excited to see them @rspb.bsky.social @naturalengland.bsky.social

Multitasking level: expert. This little Dartford Warbler was singing its heart out while carrying nesting material… apparently there’s no time to stop the music just because you’re building a house. Gotta advertise and decorate at the same time! 😄

Soft winter light and quiet moments at Farlington Marshes Two gulls standing perfectly still as the tide slips around the seaweed-covered rocks, calm, minimal, and wonderfully peaceful. One of those scenes that makes you slow down and just breathe. Nature doesn’t always need drama to be beautiful.

This beautiful ring-necked parakeet was busy foraging among the fallen chestnuts, completely unfazed by me. Their bright green plumage might look out of place, but these birds have made London’s parks their home, and they certainly bring a touch of vibrancy to the season! 💚🦜 #wildlifephotography

St. Nectan’s Glen Tucked away in the Cornish woodland, this magical waterfall feels like stepping into another world. The walk here is rugged and wild, but when you arrive it’s pure serenity, mossy rocks, rushing water, and an energy that feels almost spiritual. 💧🌿 #naturephotography #cornwall

Nature’s drama up close! Caught this moment of a garden spider enjoying an unexpected dinner guest, a ladybird. Fascinating to watch how intricate (and ruthless!) the web of life really is. 📸 Loving these little glimpses of the natural world that often go unnoticed until you look closer.
