Today, @governorferguson.bsky.social and I announced that our request for a Major Disaster Declaration has been submitted to President Trump. If approved, this declaration would help @spokanecity.org with financial assistance, infrastructure repair, and other community needs in the wake of the fire.

The Bicycle Advisory Board will be leading bike buddy rides on Sept. 15, from your local library or community center to City Hall, where there will be an additional ride looping downtown. Sprocket & Sprinkles will also be at City Hall, so be sure to get some ice cream and support a local business!

The City is launching its new Emergency Streets pilot program, which provides a rapid-response approach to traffic safety by installing temporary traffic-calming measures within 48–72 hours of a fatal crash. The goal is simple: increase awareness, reduce speeds, and make streets safer right away.
