Finance Minister Nicola Willis and one of her plans for saving her Budget. My #cartoon today #NZpol #PublicService
Cartoon. Title: “Cooking the Books” Three panels. 1st panel: Finance Minister Nicola Willis holding a bunch of public servants, saying, “Today I’m cooking Stock de Fonctionnaires Transpirants (A Stock of Sweaty Civil Servants) First, take a bunch of 8,700 anxious public servants”
2nd frame shows a pressure cooker, and Willis is saying, “Cut off the MFAT and put it aside for an elderly relative. Place the rest in a pressure cooker until they sweat, then reduce for four years” Last frame Willis is making a toast with champagne, and smiling. She says, “Now, throw away the public servants and enjoy! Bon Budget!” Below it says Note: This dish counts toward future budgets.
