One of the more specifically brutal things about this year has been how most of the SMB friends I made early on in my speedrunning life have become such drastically different people, to where they've entirely broken off into something away from the game, and away from me. I need new friends. :(

Still sad I couldn't attend Megaplex this year from getting ill at the worst time, but I've gotten a lot better physically as a result of resting. So that's good at least, definitely still nervous about going back to work tomorrow though Hoping I can find more purpose in life moving forward ❤️

Not good irl update: While my hands/arms have gotten a lot better lately, now I'm dealing with sickness that I've struggled to rest with. Pushed my body too far the past few days and I almost fainted trying to work my job today. Resting now, but I'll have to miss most of Megaplex this year :(

Slight update: I was able to convince my manager to move me into a different department, & the work I started doing today certainly felt a lot better for everything except the last 2 hours of it. I'm doing stretches/breaks constantly & taking lots of precautions, but it's still hard on my body... :(

Haven't posted here in a bit, so wanted to share an IRL update: Starting in July, I will *finally* be employed full-time!!! It was a mess trying to balance a job offer I received while I was also waiting on a DIFFERENT COMPANY for a SEPARATE role, but I'm glad it got figured out :3 We push onward.

I forgot to post about it, but I recently attended SMB1WC at Socal Gaming Expo in California (same place as CTWC) and it was AMAZING! I redeemed myself hard from last year in the any% races (got 5th/15) & had so much fun hanging out with all the SMB people :3 (Tetris was hype too) Until next year!!

Very random, but I want to post that I FINALLY got my 1st ever 8-C wall jump frame save full room in SMB1 8-4. This singular frame save in 8-4 IL has alluded me for so long because I couldn't figure out how to actually perform the FFA (falling fast accel) technique needed to achieve it. Until now :3

Regular Show: The Lost Tapes Ep 1-6 were fire, it's incredible that the show still manages to have the same on-point humor that the OG show had. Ep 2's animation was really rough tho I'm ngl, but the overall episodes were funny asf and kept the same Regular Show charm :D Looking forward to more 👀

Imagine an alternate universe, where the SMB1 speedrunning community timed runs via TAS timing... -runs slower than 4:56.711 would no longer be sub 5 in any% -the human limit would be 4:57.543 (4:57.310 w/ L+R) -sub 5 would require hard tricks like FPG/1 Frame wall-jump/BBG all in one run 😱 scary

In terms of speedrunning as of late, for some reason, I got myself into speedrunning NES Donkey Kong (OG and Jr.) and now have good times in both! 1:05.8 in OG DK & 1:28.1 in DK Jr. :0 Cool to try something really short but interesting for a run :D
