I know this is a scary idea but, if you need it, you could straight up ask your friends to talk to you more often. It's better than keep them guessing on whenever they should check on you or leave you to your own devices.

That's completely understandable. Though, you do have to take in mind that a lot of us see you as the kind of person who needs to take a break from everything from time to time, so people might be reluctant to reach out first believing you want to be alone for a while.
