Bucket list for me is coast to coast. I've been to a small stretch (Hexham and environs) but would love to do the whole thing.

If we really have to live under mortal terror of Russian aggression, then I suggest channeling it into “We must defeat their horrible far right racist propaganda and nobody should repeat it” would be considerably better and healthier than what we have been doing for a long, long time.

I double-checked this on a couple of Xitter stat sites and it's true. Average views of the main AfD account dropped 90% and average engagement dropped by 60%. This is commercial social media for you: bots, damn bots and Russian bots.

Yesterday, I returned to what may be my favorite RPG, Mage the Ascension, for a Southern Gothic tale of terror set in the border town of Texarkana. I had such a great time writing and running this session, and could not have asked for better players to join me. www.youtube.com/live/TVyARd8...

This is part six of a series sharing thoughts on the source material from The Rivers of London novels by Ben Aaronovitch which might encourage some intentional or accidental profundity in the play …

Free League's Twilight 2000 has a empathy check when you have to kill a defenseless creature. You need to fail to be able to continue and there are consequences. Delta Green also comes to mind. Conan 2d20 has ways you can demoralize foes by showing how violent you are.

Sam Altman said people are just gonna have to die in order to implement AI. In the very same week, Anthropic claimed it’s a human rights violation to be mean to the computer. These people need to be held accountable. They think lines of code are a person with rights but living people are debris.

Today's breakfast, a classic. Fish n' brewis. Salt cod and softened hardtack fried with small lardons. This one was from a grocery store's prepared food counter. It was much better than the one I had from the fish & chips restaurant just the other day.

I think inducing spend is really the issue. Use it or lose it is a good motivator, but not spending it is the same result as losing it from a players perspective.

The best way to keep players from hoarding is to have unused ones transfer to the GM at certain milestones. Let the GM characters use them against the PCs for a bit. It is a great motivator.

Peter @spezbaby.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Tell them that the GM gets any unused ones at the end of the session. The GM can use them without limit or depreciation.
