Difficult to stomach that we're likely only in the early-mid stage of the current fight against fascism, but I think we are + that things will continue to escalate until they're defeated. We must make it so that fascists are too scared to post, to scared to go outside, too scared to think.

Is there really a way to have good faith discussions with people who genuinely believe dangerously wrong things? How can you reason with people who think Armageddon is around the corner, or worse, that it should be made to happen? With people who genuinely believe current AIs are “alive?”

What is the logic, however cynical, of the @mayor.nyc.gov funding a Zionist, anti-Palestine like JCRC. His overall deflection strategy doesn’t make much sense to me, even the optics, considering the way the ground has shifted on Israel. Funding this, though? Makes zero sense. Alienating

The "writes a song ostensibly about how immigrants can never integrate into their new country," "wears sunglasses with a Totenkopf," and "is in a band with a guy who does blackface" to "becomes an immigrant, marries a member of a minority group, and becomes openly anti-ICE" arc is a rare one

One of the world's great (both current and historical) sources of exasperation is just how much of life is shaped by or sometimes dictated by (often powerful, or at least influential) people who are deeply unwell

A bare Democratic majority is not going to do what many are hoping. Leadership can’t get unanimity even now. They’re going to need enough seats to wash out the inevitable “suddenly right-wing” defectors who go beyond the usual suspects.

I don't think there's anyone but the most completely detached that hasn't noticed that we're living in an angrier, more frustrated, less patient, less forgiving, less interpersonally charitable, short-tempered time. Anger pops up in places and to degrees that seem odd and outsized

Gone are the mass raids and militarized metro operations. Gone are the pomp and pageantry. But ICE arrests have hit record levels. ICE operations are no longer concentrated in large American cities. Immigration enforcement officials are also working in suburban and rural areas, all across the US.
A map of the United States that shows immigration arrests per 100,000 people since ICE's new enforcement strategy began under DHS secretary Markwayne Mullin.

We can measure just how much leaders care about stopping genocide + ethnic cleansing by what they're willing to do, not just say. The fact that the genocidal regime is not cut off from the international system, not sanctioned, and has not had its leaders arrested tells us they don't care much at all
