After charging 15 people with "Antifa" crimes for participating in rapid response networks, federal agents are pepper-spraying people outside the Federal Courthouse in the Twin Cities right now. They want to establish an autocracy. Everyone's freedom is at stake.

One thing before tomorrow: Use your local libraries. Get your card. Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks. Recommend titles for purchase (usually online). Attend promoted activities. Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires. Tell your kids that libraries are good. They are. 📚

What is one to conclude from the contrast between the AHA’s position on Ukraine and its position on Gaza other than it believes some people’s histories are worth more than others?

I'm the one humanities major on a STEM team of engineers, and they all treat me like I'm a human wikipedia, without really realizing it. My qualification for this is that I'm moderately well-read on a broader degree of topics than they are, and thus this makes me some kind of sagacious wizard.

Huge scoop by Erin Reed. Ohio and Michigan Republicans announced their intention to expand bans on gender affirming care to everyone. This isn't about protecting children, and never was. Bans on youth care were the first step of an attempt by the right to legislate trans people out of existence.

Teaching feudalism is the history equivalent of teaching electrons & protons as balls on sticks. When kids reach the “Actually it’s a weird cloud!” stage it can cause dismay, distrust of science & teachers, & most adults still visualize balls on sticks. False simplifications do long damage.

In Episode 3 of "We Don't Talk About Leonard," Leo is at the height of his powers. He's helped remake the judicial system, and now has a plan to do the same for society and politics — to make a Federalist Society for everything. But his vision for American society…collides with American society.

If I were Angela Paxton I would probably stay away from the bible verses that explicitly open themselves up to an entire universe of home renovation jokes
A tweet from Sen. Angela Paxton, whose husband Texas AG Ken Paxton's impeachment trial is ongoing. The tweet features a photo of Sen. Paxton in a red skirt suit, with this bible verse: “Everyone who hears these words of mine & puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, the winds blew & beat against that house; yet it did not fall, bc it had its foundation on the rock" Matthew 7:24-25 #txlege"
