have an innate understanding of how it actually functions and what it does. Not to mention that the entire part of programming that’s fun, is the programming, there’s this joy of seeing a thing you fully designed and built with your hands functioning knowing that it was uniquely possible by you.

Call me old fashioned but every time I still find it’s way more effective to take the time to understand the programming problem, devise a solution, write out requirements and just do it right the first time. Sure there will be issues, that’s the nature of programming, but at least you then

Don’t mind me, just here busy constructing a battle bot~ trying to fit into the 1lb category! He has an interchangeable detachable flail depending on the opponent. Did some fiddling with gear ratios so now he’s super zippy testing with just one motor! Should have the second one online soon!

I started out as an artist before I became a programmer, and just like in art, programming is also about the journey and not just the result. The learning experience of figuring it out, hitting roadblocks and truly understanding is such a valuable part of creating something.

I’ve somehow always gotten lucky with this Minidelta printer. But oh boy, it started to go downhill fast. Ended up having to use my guitar tuner, because apparently if you tension the belts to A2 at 110hz it’s suddenly way happier about life.

Yup! That was the one! Soon I opened the extruder to see what was up all the metal chunks of the fitting just fell out. I did find a printable housing that does what this Frankenstein setup is doing, so thankfully this is just for the next 20 min while that prints.
