Nothing takes the wind out of my sails harder than reconnecting with someone I worked with before, especially someone I respected, they’re excited to show me some cool personal project they’ve been cooking up. And then they let slip they did it with AI. It’s such a depressing feeling.

I’ve somehow always gotten lucky with this Minidelta printer. But oh boy, it started to go downhill fast. Ended up having to use my guitar tuner, because apparently if you tension the belts to A2 at 110hz it’s suddenly way happier about life.

Ok let’s say you have a motion controller, you can extract orientation data from it as a quaternion. You’re generally interested in its motion as it twists along its X axis (which let’s assume is perpendicular to your body). How would one go about measuring that change frame by frame?

Maybe my understanding here is incorrect BUT! If you do a decomposition swing twist using -1,0,0 as your twist axis, the X of your twist ends up being a reliable rotation. The only peculiar thing I don’t understand is it seems to run from 0 to 1, but from -0 to -0.8 before going positive.
