showing my brother how pokemon used to put in a lot of effort into animating each individual creature, but now simplifies them, and we came to the definitely wrong conclusion that it's because whoever is now directing the games was the person they forced to make all those blink animations in 2000

Rise of The Machines

Fred Flentstone stands, hands on his hips, looking incredulously at Barney Rubble, who is at the corner of the panel barely visible. He appears to wearing tiny sunglasses.
"C'mon Barn, what's with the getup? and what is that on your head?" Fred asks.
"oh this, Fred?"
We now see Barney is also wearing a black trench coat and smoking a cigarette. A small bird is taped to the side of his head. "Just the latest in cybernetic enhancement technology- wired right into my brain."

The background dissolves and Barney stands next to a free floating diagram of a human body with several small birds going into it and says "we're entering a new age, Fred- the synthesis of man and machine as one flesh. This is the future. It's hack or be hacked."
Fred looks incredulous.

The bird pecks Barney.

Fighter: "Look out - Dragons!"
Mage: "Don't worry. I studied Draconic!"

Panel 2: Two huge dragons look menacingly at the trio, while the mage attempts to communicate in a script that looks like the dragon language from Skyrim. Translated, it says, "O mighty dragons, we beseech you allow us safe passage through your territory."

Panel 3: The dragons talk to each other while the human mage goes on. The green dragon looks confused, but the red dragon looks smug and confident. They do not understand the mage. Green dragon: "Humans! What do you suppose they want?" Red dragon: "Don't worry. I studied human."

Panel 4: The humans are puzzled as the red dragon addresses them in Chinese. Translated, it is saying, "Welcome, humans! Please take your boots off when you enter the cave. Would you like a biscuit?"

I was wondering why I have never eaten or seen the USA hawthorn fruit, but it turns out the trees are obligate wetland specialists and therefore large groves of them are now very rare. It's always anti-wetland sentiment here, isn't it
