As a kid I can remember one of the Dads rocking up to my school with one. It was the most outrageously over the top thing I'd ever seen up close. I couldn't help but love that car and I'm not really a car guy.

In the UK we also still uses miles for road distances. (Except if you're talking about walking, running or cycling which are often in Km) Just to be more confusing, our old Imperial gallons are bigger than (non-Imperial) US gallons. It's why no Brit is ever impressed with a pint in US bar. :P

Just to extra clear, electric cars work perfectly well for long journeys and the charging network is already extensive enough to make that possible. However, it will always be quicker, cheaper and less hassle not to have to charge on route if you already have the range.

You're being obtuse. I'm not saying I want to drive 300 miles without stopping. I'm saying I don't want to charge my car every time I stop on a 300 mile trip. Public chargers are expensive compared to charging once at home. An order of magnitude more expensive.

Myself, not often but I would like to be able to do a long round trip with out having to use expensive public chargers every time I stop. I think I'd be happy with range of 380ish miles that cars like the Renault Scenic and Nissan Leaf have but I don't really want a big, heavy SUV.

That's fair enough I guess, Brexit was the dummest thing we've ever done, but we're collectively in a position where we need to work together with the rest of Europe on defence. Deliberately weakening the UK economy also weakens that collective defence of France and the rest of the EU.

In 1978 the street is packed with cars, parked and queuing nose to tail. A lorry and a couple of cyclists are stuck among them in the distance. Today the street is now paved in brick with no cars in sight. A woman rides an e-bike towards the camera down the middle of the street.

Haha, loving that sticker! With the no tread thing, I believe due to narrow width you'd have go over 100mph to aquaplane. On road tread actually reduces the contact patch. Fast race tyres with a tread (GP5ks, etc) really use it for aerodynamics not grip. Which is pretty funny.

Aha! Nice, thank you. I've tried both the Schwabe Marathons (slow but last forever and don't puncture) or the Continental Contacts. I really like the Contis with Tubolito tubes. They feel much faster and grippier to me.

Whenever I think about upgrading my Mac I remember how rubbish the spellchecker is. For a dyslexic that's a really important feature. An OS wide checker that can't detect what I'm trying to write or make sensible suggestions is a problem. Apple are more focused on emoji and AI than the basics.
