How UofT can not only have a visiting professor from a state committing genocide and murdering children EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK come and teach, but teach on a topic that IGNORES Israel's crimes and pretends there are economic lessons they can teach us. UofT must CANCEL this course.

How is offering a course by someone affiliated w institutions complicit with apartheid & war crimes, who frames the economy of an apartheid, war criminal state as a "fascinating economic laboratory", while said state escalates its genocides in Palestine & Lebanon, aligned with UofT's mission? 9/

A third example is a 2025 paper (also ISF-funded) on "Political Rational Inattention: A New Measure With an Application to Political Polarization". Focus is, once more, on the USA. 7/

Another recent paper, which was, like the previous one, funded through a Israel Science Foundation grant, asks the question "Do campaign contributions fuel political sabotage?" Here too, the focus is on the USA elections 6/

Lagziel's work is not disconnected from Israel's geopolitical interests and hasbara machine. See for instance this recent article on "the role of incentives in inducing sabotage in political contents", which focuses on the USA 5/

On his professional webpage, Lagziel specifies that he will be visiting professor at the UofT until October 2027. According to an older, public cv retrieved online, he was Armored corps Lieutenant (a higher rank) in the IOF from 2002 to 2006 (this info is not listed on his webpage cv though) 4/

When I was under 1, my dad was arrested in the UK. As was the standard procedure, he had the beating of his life and was left on a cell floor to reflect on the errors of his ways. He got 3 years in a max security jail. One of the men arrested with him died on hunger strike.

What happens when the university you work for allows genociders to work alongside you and to teach students? Is the university also complicit when they allowed this Engineering professor to make several trips, to murder innocent women, children, men in Palestine, and to return to teach in Toronto?
