I feel like Hastert wasn't really "disgraced" in any real sense of the word. He voluntarily left Congress and made bank as a private citizen before the allegations surfaced. He suffered no political consequences for the abuse, served 16 months for financial crimes, and died in relative obscurity.

I truly don't think his voters care about the other stuff cited in the article, like DHS m*rd*ring American citizens or demonizing trans people. If their day-to-day life weren't being impacted, they would be happy with continued gov't m*rd*r sprees and the sacrificing of trans people's lives.
