API is a kangaskhan! i picked that name bc since API lets two different programs communicate w/ each other. i thought it was cute. my gimmick is naming my mons coding acronyms that'd be pronounceable as names. so names like DMA/ASM would be pronounced "deema"/"azzum" which feels awkward to me haha

i will keep that in mind if i catch any more missingno but NaN is cute because missing number. not a number. you feel me

i'm cherry picking and choosing which parts of gen 1's design inconsistencies to keep or not because it's my project and i love myself

hi!! i did not create abandon lonliness so i sadly don't know anything about its creation process. rom hacking is something i've wanted to learn myself for a long time, too. i'm sure there's definitely resources and tutorials available out there if you're willing to search for them though!!

tbh i don't understand the hype about the rock by the water in frlg? it was always there in the originals too, why are we only talking about it now?

sparklingdemon [sparks] @sparklingdemon.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

is anyone else's images getting uploaded as solid black when they post or is it just me.

130

sparklingdemon [sparks] @sparklingdemon.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

yes!! tldr is that pokemon sprite data is sent to the walker through HGSS, so if you hack the HGSS rom's walker sprites and put the rom hack on a modded 3DS, you can send basically any sprite you want to the walker. you need a legit cart in the 3DS slot for the infrared to work tho!

another surferverse oc!! this one's based on the yami shop glitch from RBY =D #pokemon #glitch #OC #art

"Take your time."
THE PEDDLER - She/Her
(Nicknamed "YAMI" by THE SURFER)
-Loiters in the shadows near POKé MARTs.
-Sells items that were never meant to be sold.
-If you carry the right glitch item, she'll recognize you as one of her customers.
-Appears and disappears without a trace.
-No one but her customer can see or hear her.
-Has no actual need for money, does it purely for fun.
-Has no POKéMON of her own.
-Always hides her face.
-Only unmasks for the people she dislikes.

i played frlg.ips it was really neat

guy looking at frlg.ips: "woahws pokemon weird route"
meaning flying over head: "Even if something isn't by definition "real", just by the mere act of you believing it, it will be real in your heart. Never stop believing, keep being imaginative, continue being curious. Perpetuate the cycle of creation."

ah, yeah, haha. i still love him but i can't be expected to commit my whole life to drawing a pokepasta character that i didn't even create. it's been 8 years since askbrvrandcompany and i want to move on and tell my own stories too. but here's a BRVR art i drew 6 months ago as a consolation though!

BIG FAN of this missingno interpretation. i've pretty much had the exact same headcanons abt how my perception affects missingno and the game world and it's really surreal seeing someone's hack repeat my own thoughts word for word. this story heavily appeals to me specifically so thank you nova

Painting commission for @sparklingdemon.bsky.social ! NaN was a delight to paint :3 Get one for yourself here: ko-fi.com/viscarrion/c... #art #digitalart #commission #pokemon

A digital painting of Nan, a missing No Oc belonging to SparklingDemon. She's an amalgam of skeletal pokemon parts and glitchy ghost parts, sitting on the left side of the canvas in the foreground, Shielding her eyes with a single ghostly hand as she looks out over the ocean. She's lounging on an outcropping of reddish rocks that are being lapped at by waves, with cinnabar island curving out behind her in the background. She's holding a cup of purple juice, sipping on it cheerfully.

The same image, but with text in the upperleft corner to make it look like a postcard. The text reads "Wish you were here! Sending you love from Cinnabar Coast."
