Four classic video games you find yourself replaying no matter how old they are?

Everyone is hating on Xbox at the moment, which I get, but Xbox Cloud is finally out of beta and it’s suddenly running incredibly well. I really wish my friends in SA could get access to it. It’s really very impressive.

Finally completed Death Stranding 2. Man, what a game. Kojima knows how to pull all those strings (or strands?). His use of music is so good too. Added so many songs to my playlist.

How lucky are PS5 gamers? Two ‘State of Play’ shows within 24 hours. (The traditional State of Play, and the Xbox, but also PS5, Tokyo Game Show 2025).

It’s taken our industry a mere 15 years to destroy many of the great racing dev teams. Bizarre Creations (Project Gotham Racing), Codies (F1/Dirt), Criterion (Burnout), Studio Liverpool (Wipeout) and Evolution Studios (Motorstorm) have all been closed or dissolved into other teams. Bummer.

To all the young generation gamers - don’t be afraid when you play SoulCalibur 2 on Switch 2’s GameCube collection & find that the entire game is there. That you have to play to unlock new characters & that there are no bugs that need updating. We know it’ll be weird for you, but you’ll catch on.

I’ve experienced my first 4D game session tonight. I’m playing Dead Island 2 co-op, while my dog is sleeping next to me. Every time I slash a zombie he farts, and the rotten smell goes straight into my nostrils. It’s like I’m there.

You know how GTA V had three PlayStation consoles? When The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launches on Switch 2 it’ll have three Nintendo consoles. (Of course OG Super Mario has all the the Nintendo consoles).

I have a prediction about what Nintendo will do in regards to the Switch 2 launch, due to these tariffs. The price will indeed go up and they will pack in the Switch 2 Museum Tour game that was supposed to be a pack-in in the first place.

Know anyone interested in buying a PS4 Pro (comes with a 20th anniversary edition controller) at a fair going price, I also have a base launch PS4 as well. I'd thought to ask around here first to see if anyone's interested before putting anything into classifieds. I'll be open to add a game or two.

Let me tell you people, @nickdebruyne.bsky.social and I have been playing Redfall in a group of four people, and the game is a silly amount of fun. These devs got done dirty. They just released it too early.

SpacThEMan @spactheman.bsky.social · 04/04/2025

Folks, I know I have very limited followers on this platform, but if history taught me anything - buy whatever console you’re in the market for asap. The tariff war is gonna see price increases everywhere. It’s as good as it gets, right now.

You know how Nintendo are charging for Switch 2 upgrades of original Switch games? GOOD! Now you mofos know how all us (read a dozen of us) Wii U fans felt like when they ported everything and charged full price for what we had already bought. Imma eat my popcorn with a big grin on my face.

Silent Hill f being based in Japan… that’s like the worst fear I can imagine. It basically Fatal Frame, but worse. Can’t wait!

In a world with deluxe edition this, and premium edition that, the games from @hazelightgames.bsky.social is a stark reminder that launching a game with everything available to you at launch, as a complete product, will still sell millions. There is no need for sleazy tactics to sell more games.

Been playing Split Fiction and it’s amazing. That said, I find it ironic that they’re ripping into big corporate game publishers… and EA is the publisher.

Been playing Silent Hill 2 remake and it’s a legit masterpiece. I feel bad for bad mouthing Bloober ahead of launch. They absolutely nailed it. I’m kakking myself and there’s just no other horror game where the narrative hits as hard. So good.

Completed Death Stranding for a second time and enjoyed it so much. The first time I completed it in 60 hours as I had to rush it for review. Now I took 137 hours, rebuilt most roads and just enjoyed everything it had to give. No one hits like Kojima. Next up - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Balatro is possibly one of the best games I’ve played in many a year. I totally understand the love for it. Finished it twice now, and it just keeps giving. It’s my new Vampire Survivors.

In 2025 I’ll continue the idea of completing 10 games over various platforms as per @mylifeingaming.bsky.social concept. Below are the games I’ll work on this year. The 10th game will be Indiana Jones digitally via Game Pass. (The one game obstructed by the light is Konami’s shooter, Cygni)

SpacThEMan @spactheman.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

Last year I did what @mylifeingaming.bsky.social does and set up 10 games to complete in 2024. I finished all, other than Blue Stinger, as the PAL copy wouldn’t work on an NTSC Dreamcast, even with a boot up disc. Really enjoyed the method to complete some classics.

So next year Metal Gear Solid V, Witcher 3 and Batman Arkham Knight are all a decade old. How the hell did that happen?! Also, Resi 4, God of War and Psychonauts will be two decades old.

You know what’s a whole load of bullshit? My PS1/PS2/PS3 analogue sticks still work perfectly decades down the line. Yet many people struggle with drift on controllers barely over a year old (or less at times) in this gen. There’s really no reason for it to be a reality. It’s just shady business.

SpacThEMan @spactheman.bsky.social · 13/12/2024

I hope that the win for Astro Bot taught developers one thing - it’s not always about big open worlds. We enjoyed linear adventures with tight controls and events the director of the game wants us to experience in the game. We don’t care how big the world is - it needs to be fun first and foremost.
