I put them alongside a Bruce Willis/Die Hard type action film as harmless, violent entertainment. And an easier read than lots of the books aimed at twelve year olds that I read now for escapism.

Although, reading a few more recently he and his successors in the CC ‘franchise’ are pretty awful in how they write women. I once got so into a book about and ex-Vietnam sniper that I made this outfit from a beach ball and a bike pump.

When I worked in travel in France all we had to read was the books clients left behind. I kind of fell in love with airport thrillers because they were so quick and easy and there was no one to judge me for reading them. I developed a really soft spot for Clive Cussler.

It’s wonderful to see our research finally out. It shows that the amazing Devil’s Arrows in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire were transported 18km from Brimham Rocks (not Plumpton!) to the site. royalsocietypublishing.org/rspa/article/4…

This is rather wonderful. The music itself is fantastic, but coupled with the footage it gets some real emotion heft. Mark has always made beautiful atmospheric music, but his work with the kids of the PPYO is definitely worth a listen and a follow 🙂 Recommended.
