I got into Coltrane via the public record library and then some pretty mighty CD reissues in the early 90s. Live in Seattle is my favourite, but The Major Works is just such a ridiculous motherlode.

3 CD sets by John Coltrane - The Major Works (including Ascension, Om, Kulu Se Mama and Selflessness), Live in Japan and Live in Seattle

Playing in Leeds in a few weeks with these lovely French people. Deep Triskell is my old pal Max High Wolf - sounds like he's finally caved in to the Breton folk I was always telling him to check out.

Gloopy artwork poster for a gig featuring Auto Reverse (a duo of Nina Garcia and Arnaud Riviere), Deep Triskell and Astral Social Club at Wharf Chambers, Leeds on 6th October. Admission is £8 waged, £4 unwaged, doors open 7:30.

It's Bandcamp Friday: all VHF downloads are name your price at vhfrecords.bandcamp.com. Better, why not get all of our recent LPs! They're all amazing, and if there was ever a time that supporting the small label-underground freakout collective braintrust was important, it's probably right now tbh.

A pile of all of our releases from the last couple of years - 35 years into this, as proud of this batch as any ever, tho' it's getting harder every year to do this. Can't imagine how hard it is out there for the labels and bands trying to do this for a living, must be impossible.

Bandcamp Friday again, eh? No new gear from me, but here's one of my favourite things I've had a hand in recently that is probably even more under-the-radar than usual. Live laptop jams I did mixing my sounds with a load of Shaun's. ifarmusiqueconcretecompilation.bandcamp.com/album/demiurge

I've just heard the very sad news that original Glaxo Babies drummer Geoff Alsopp has died. Geoff had been a stalwart of the Bristol music scene years before punk. He'd played in country bands, pub bands of many hues and in 1974 a band with a nonemore 1974 name than Pokey Mule. RIP Geoff.

I've lost track of how many records I had as a kid in the early 80s, sold/gave away so I could travel fairly light, then have rebought in my bloated/comfortable middle-age.

I find it much harder to promote music - especially tours - since I quit Insta and FB and Twitt. Sad that so much of current DIY happenings rely on those shit outlets. And since ALL I HAVE is Bluesky, feels I'm screaming into the void. HAHA. That said, come to my UK shows please. Tell yr friends.
