Rise was a white label horror movie that missed the tone and appeal of the originals while tossing in a few "lore" nods in a lazy attempt to tie them together because you have to leverage an existing IP to get anything made. Burn looks even worse in that regard. Sucks!

I never felt like I got a handle on who the Manhunters were and what they were trying to accomplish, which was a problem for a show with a lot of "tell, don't show" exposition and lore dumps. The leads and Kelly MacDonald kept me in but it felt like the story ran out of gas like 2/3 of the way in
