I have also sat when it's been long eg when train chaos meant we had to stand on an LNER train for a long time

I've sat on the floor when there were no seats, it was that or faint with the heat

I got used to it quickly. I usually book the same desk though! Although once a week I sit on a different floor for variety

We do not have enough so everything gets locked away or taken home at the end of the day. In theory, inevitably some people have colonised desks and never clear their stuff so no one else can sit there

We have hot desking now so it's hard to leave anything behind since we always have to leave a completely empty desk for the next person

I would have gone back for that because of credit card etc. Now I would also go back for my phone but then I just left it there all night

Years ago I left mine in my desk drawer at work. Mum was worried at me not answering that she drove round to check I think was alive 🫣

It's always the same number of bus and the culprits are usually clueless tourists heading to a campsite or middle aged, middle class women who won't go upstairs

I've had a few occasions when these people wouldn't move despite the driver shouting at them to sit down. The driver then had no choice but to drive away from the stop without letting on more passengers. That's 🤬 when that's your bus and you can't get on

Not normal. My sister has a low wall in front of her flat, she caught someone leaving unbagged dog 💩 on it

It was a squashed takeaway bag by the end of our path on Sunday morning. Sometimes it's even stuffed into our hedge. Since when did a hedge become a bin?

This day in a row I've started the day with a litter pick outside my house. Totally disgusting, why do so many people think it's ok to drop their snack packaging outside. This is a residential street, they are probably moments from their own home and bin

Felt similar with our new trainee lawyers, it's year 28 for me

Slapstick moment today. Cleaning my parents carpets, carpet cleaner died after 2 minutes. Slipped on the wet carpet, cut my foot on landing & left a trail of blood on the tiny bit of carpet I'd cleaned 😂 Just as well it's a pink carpet ....

Only wore them once last winter, to a funeral

This is something I also don't understand. I have suede boots, I very very rarely wear them

Got home about midnight and my sister stayed with Dad until he got moved to the discharge lounge. I am hoping he's back at the care home now. I was told he was being prepared to be moved about an hour ago so 🤞

Well he just shat himself and the bed because he didn't tell me he needed the commode soon enough

It got worse, a lot worse. Dad collapsed and I've been in the care home for a couple of hours and then A&E for 7 hours. I've been awake since 5.30am on Saturday, it's now 8pm on Sunday. I'll need a bed in the hospital for myself soon

My first full week of leave for a year and yes, I've woken up ill this morning. Fabulous

I have an MP3 somewhere but I prefer to be able to hear my surroundings when I'm out so I haven't used it in years

Are Walkmans in fashion again? The teenager next to me on the bus is listening to one

I added some plants from NatureScape to mine. The clover has taken over and the self heal is also doing well

It's research in an area we're targeting for work so I can't really say no. I'm postponing other stuff to make it possible

I am a middle aged woman who owned the house. I had no excuse

In my last house I lived with a malfunctioning bathroom light for a couple of years and the last few weeks it didn't work at all. Don't recommend, don't be me

2 peoples full time work into 1 persons part time hours is not computing. Especially as I have my annual appraisal tomorrow and a full day of training on Friday.

Logged off at 9.45 pm yesterday 😲 Still only half way through the enquiry. Only have 2 mornings left to finish it and do the rest of this week's work. I need more hours in the day

Lorna @spacelibrarian.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
And it was incredibly busy. I'll be logging on again when I get home. And I'm back in the office for early tomorrow, 8am to 12 tomorrow

Lorna @spacelibrarian.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
Loads of people are working in Edinburgh. Normal day for everyone except those working in finance and postmen

Lorna @spacelibrarian.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
Could be worse, you could be working in the office like I am. The 6am alarm was not welcome this morning

I also have to listen to Leeds talk, it's over the phone though but on speaker so I get to hear both my partner and his brother 🙄

Five years ago, I wrote an open letter asking climate scientists to speak out. Now governments are in retreat, it is surely time to act, says climate professor Bill McGuire

It's very annoying when people who don't work from home assume that they can disturb those of us who do. My sister is a nurse, I never phone her when she's working. She phones me regularly during the day and seems to think it's fine for me to chat if I'm at home. Nope, I'm paid to work not to chat
