I want the WoW that supports a seasonal max level content *and* the WoW that supports a meaningful leveling experience. I want a WoW that can tell character stories *and* the WoW that can explore the world and its themes. I don't want to have to split those desires between two versions of WoW.

My WoW hot take is that I think it’s good they’re(likely) blowing up Northrend and changing things. They just need to make it mean something. This story device has been executed poorly in the past(multiple times). In a way that doesn’t feel like it serves the narrative. This time it needs to.

I think these world events just don’t need to exist as they are. They can be cool as a one off event like the legion invasion but as they are it just feels like treadmill content that doesn’t feel interesting to engage with to me.

I’m discovering that for myself now but it still took me finally accepting that what I was told for my entire life about the state just isn’t true. A lot of older Jews in particular won’t even engage with Israel’s atrocities and that’s why they call them lies. The contradictions are too great.

I think for Jewish people the state has spent our entire lives tying our Jewish identity(ethnically and culturally) to the state. To the point that I don’t even know(because I was never told) what being Jewish is outside of historical trauma and the state.

Exactly! Seeing the Warcraft 3 definitive edition art reinforces this for me too. It’s not 1 to 1 either but a lot of the facial features of the units are maintained just in HD now instead.

No I don’t think so. I think it has to do with the tools working better for the art style retail is going for. It doesn’t work for classic because there’s a lot less 3d elements so they have to expend more effort on the textures to give a 3d effect for classic.

I don’t even really think it looks better it’s just more consistent with classics style. But less granular details isn’t something I’ve noticed this much until recently. Having the SD models next to the HD ones made me realize how poor of a job they did translated things into HD.

It’s kind of a continuation of that disconnect between what the writers are telling us happened vs what we actually played. It makes me feel like the writers did not want to make midnight. I can’t say that’s true obviously but so much about all of this doesn’t make any sense.

I think everything is deflated. wowF is taking all the oxygen which isn’t bad but with retails narrative future kind of being up in the air again in terms of quality I think the community is just kinda down about the whole thing. I wanna be excited about retail again.

I think there’s a deep psychological element to the way people cling to the things they love. Especially things that have been a constant in their lives. I have empathy for people who can’t let something go if it’s changed in a bad way or someone involved with it is the bad way etc. 1/2
