This is my take. The other day me and Mom went to Bobby Dodd. Pulled off the upset over Top 25 Duke when Duke missed a chipshot for the win. I ran back down to where Mom was sitting, we hugged and celebrated. It was a great day.

That’s going to be the next thing. The deflation of records will make seemingly compelling games look less so when what would have been a 1 loss team already has 3 losses in the same timeframe

I'll be beyond curious if that lasts. I don't have a problem with it. What I have a problem with is the fantasy land concept that all of this is worth it because of the add'l access for the little guy.

The other part I don't buy is that this will give coaches/programs some stability as they can say "Well we made the playoff" because finishing 16 - 24 every year isn't really going to move the needle as much as folks think. They'll still get itchy to get a better result from a new coach, I figure

Not enough people appreciated the sport for what it was honestly. You saw this when people would dismiss an early-season slate of games because there weren't enough great games on. I, on the other hand, was fired up to watch a couple or go down to the stadium because CFB is fun/awesome.

That’s what I really don’t get about these trade offs. The SEC Title Game, especially, is a tremendous event and compromising that to a permanent end for this expanded playoff is foolish

I'm torn on this because on one hand a 24-team playoff is a staunchly anti-CFB concept, but on the other hand a 12-team playoff has already broken CFB so this may be like pissing into a river of piss at this point.
