As "Rubber Soul" receives the Super Deluxe treatment today, I've placed an old article I wrote for @soundsfamiliar.bsky.social onto A Goldfish Called Regret - basically twelve reasons why I love "Rubber Soul". Read it here. agoldfishcalledregret.wordpress.com/2026/10/01/s...

So, why not “Rubber Soul”?

Another post I wrote for someone else’s website many years ago. This was originally written for the Sounds Familiar website ten years ago (doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun?…

Hurrah! So after thinking I was as thick as shit, I did my exam yesterday and passed with 88%! More than I hoped I’d get so pretty happy with that 🙌

One of the most beautiful things I’ve seen! Look at that green vinyl! I am SO happy to get this 30th anniversary edition of an album I ABSOLUTELY love!! ❤️ First time ever on vinyl, this is the limited 2 vinyl edition of ‘Happy Nowhere’ by Dogs Eye View. (I fucked up the hype sticker though!)

I’m revising for an exam and struggling a bit cos it’s a technical exam full of wordy shit that keeps falling out of my brain. I’ve got to the age now where I’m not too bothered about getting 100%, for me a pass is a pass. I’m just hoping to scrape through 🤷‍♀️

Day off today so have been out. Got age checked for buying paracetamol AGAIN. I’m almost 50 ffs. Also, that M&S custard cream spread is still not in my local shop. I’ve been looking for weeks also tried the massive store in Notts and nope. Why is the midlands always months behind everywhere else?

Bought the scratching post as Dusty’s Christmas present! 🎄 In fact, I bought 2 so she has a spare. And no, my cat is not spoilt 😜

Blood Cancer UK @bloodcanceruk.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

When blood cancer enters your life, getting back to normal routine becomes the goal. It's great to dream big, but it's also ok to dream small. Seeing your friends. Going to work. Getting outside. Many of us don’t think we'll reach the moments others take for granted ❤️

A burgundy background with a thought bubble drawn in red. The handwritten white text reads, "The life I dreamed of was simply getting back to my own."

Meanwhile over on TikTok someone says they have never heard of having hot squash (cordial) for medicinal purposes in the uk. It was big in the 80s, right? Felt unwell, mug of hot orange or ribena. Right?

Trying new things so you don’t have to (unless you want to, obvs). Not sure if I didn’t leave it stewing long enough, but I don’t think it tasted of custard creams. A definite biscuity taste though, but nothing more than other teas of this type 🍪

Today is MPN Awareness Day ❤️ MPNs are rarer blood cancers that many people have never heard of but around 4180 people are diagnosed in the UK each year. Living with an MPN can bring ongoing challenges. From managing symptoms and treatment, to coping with the uncertainty of a longterm blood cancer.
