Update: the ER found nothing despite me doubling over in pain. Was sent home, though I had the option to stay for “pain management”. If it gets worse I will be right back there but at least it doesn’t appear to be anything super serious.

Recovery is (obviously) still ongoing. Still in loads of pain. Standing feels like either my ass and lower back were ran over by wheels covered in spikes and legos, or like my my calves have been shot with burning coal that’s imbedded itself under my muscles.

update on recovery: I've been up and walking around, but very tired still from the drugs. there is a lot of pain but i've been able to manage it with medications so far. One of the biggest things the doctor's worry about is constipation, and I finally went number 2 today! huzzah!

Please Help me survive recovery!
As some of you may know, I’ve been struggling for five years with debilitating back pain. I have degenerative disc disease that genetically comes from my father’s side of the family, hence why I have issues at such a young age. I have finally been accepted for surgery, since all other pain management attempts have done nothing. This is exciting news for me, but unfortunately the long recovery means I can’t make money to pay my bills. Commissions are currently my only income, and I’m already struggling because of chronic pain and various health problems. I literally pay 1k a month for food, student loans, internet, phone bill, and car insurance. My recovery will leave me incapable of work for possibly 3 months, though I hope for it to take me much less time. My surgery is June 10th, 2026I feel shame asking for money, as it’s something that’s been beaten into my skull not to do, but I know that this community is so supportive and kind, and I would be so grateful it if anyone could donate to make my recovery much less stressful. Thank you all so much, even well wishes are welcome! <3
